ASUS Announces Launch of New High-End P7P55D Motherboard LGA-1156 socket CPU, 19-Phase Digital PWM Circuitry

ASUS announced that it has just about wrapped up work on its latest set
of motherboards based on the Intel P55 chipset and supporting LGA-1156
socket CPUs. The newest entry in the company's P7P55 series is the
high-end P7P55D Deluxe. The P7P55D is the first-tier offering in the
product line and comes in with a feature set that is just above the
P7P55 EVO and P7P55 Pro. The P7P55D sports some high-grade components
and overclocker-friendly features and the CPU is powered by a lavish
19-phase digital PWM circuit. To keep things chill, it's cooled by
unique heatsinks that employ a heatpipe distributor to eliminate the
excess energy.

Each P7P55D has four memory slots supporting dual-channel DDR3 memory
and a 4-phase circuit powers each. ASUS' proprietary TurboV technology
gives users increased flexibility and control over parameters like
voltages and clock speeds. This board even bundles a pop-out wired
remote that provides some on-the-fly controls. The expansion slot layout
follows that of the P7P55 EVO, with three PCI-E 2.0 x16 slots.

The P55 chipset provides six SATA II ports and an external controller
provides three additional ports. Connectivity and other expansion
options include two-gigabit Ethernet controllers, over a dozen USB 2.0
ports, Firewire, and audio with digital output. It is rumored that the
P7P55D Deluxe could be among the first of the new P55 motherboards
released by ASUS later this year.
