XS-SR3 iPod Speaker Dock Gets Official JVC XS-SR3 iPod Speaker Dock Features Dolby Virtual Surround Sound

You must be one of those people looking for a new iPod speaker dock this
Christmas, aren t you? With the holidays just around the corner you
definitely need such a tool to put to good use your Christmas-themed
playlists.JVC has launched a new iPod speaker dock, the
uniquely-designed XS-SR3 which will certainly impress the audience
with its looks and its music playing capabilities. The dock has a
tubular, but pretty interest
ing, shape which will turn anyone s head and comes with Dolby Virtual
Surround support which should fit well with your music needs.
The XS-SR3 can hold your iPhone or iPod in a vertical or horizontal
position, although I am pretty sure you will want to use an actual
big-screen TV to watch all the videos you want. Besides that Dolby
Virtual Surround that can create the illusion of a wider sound field
when viewing video content , the speakers will offer you powerful
neodymium magnets which will get you clean, crisp sound. Does that
sound good enough for you?
The JVC XS-SR3 will offer you 5 watts of power and two audio inputs, one
analog and one digital optical. The system also doubles as a computer
speaker system so in case you don t have an iPod but love the design of
the XS-SR3, now you have an excuse to get it. The speaker dock comes
with a handy remote control which should help you better control
everything from the distance.
The JVC XS-SR3, although just recently announced, is certainly a dock to
consider this Christmas. If you find any extra cash laying around the
house you could always send Santa to pick one up. The XS-SR3 is
available for just $149.95 which is not a bad price considering what it
has to offer.
So what do you say, folks? What iPod dock / speaker system are you going
to purchase this Christmas?

Creative ZiiSound D5 iPod Speaker Dock ZiiSound D5 Speakers & Charger for Your iPhone & iPod Touch

Besides talking about their new ZiiLABS StemCell Computing t
echnology which is supposedly going to lead to world class products that
would suit the needs of a sustainable planet, folks from Creative have
taken the time to announce their new ZiiSound D5 iPod / iPhone speaker
dock on Tuesday, during the Zii Summit event in China.
Not much different from the standard dock systems we see popping every
day, Singapore-based multimedia company hasn't added a Zii chip under
the hood meaning that there's no sign of 1080p-capable processing.
Basically, the Creative ZiiSound D5 works as a charger and doubles as
speakers for both your iPod Touch and for Apple's handset — which
by the way, get connected together using a Bluetooth adapter or using a
3.5mm audio jack.
No official word regarding availability and pricing, but sources close
to the company have advised that the Creative ZiiSound D5 speakers
shouldn't cost more than $299 and that it should be in stores early 2010.
Why not before Christmas? Beyond our imagination

JBL Creature III Speakers Announced, Look Slick Creature III Speakers Exclusive from Apple, Work With PCs

Although we know that Yamaha's YSP-5100 digital sound projector is
capable of replacing all those speakers that came bundled with your
hi-fi sound system, in honesty it's a fact that we can't say no to JBL's
latest addition to their computer speakers lineup. Dubbed JBL Creature
III, the slick speakers look cool and share a close resemblance to the
ghosts from Pac Man that the previous Creature II had, but promise not
to compromise on quality for looks.
Which is true!
Available in black or white, the new JBL Creature III speakers are
actually a 2.1 system with a pair of satellites that measure 3 x 3 x
2-3/4 and a 3-inch subwoofer that measures 9 x 9 x 9 . The system
outputs a total power of 25W, with the satellites having 5W and the
subwoofer 15W.
Although available exclusively in Apple stores and on Apple.com, the
Creature III speakers promise to work like a charm even with your PC
— no matter what OS you're running. So better save some $129.99 if
you want to buy yourself a gift in time for X-mas.

Electrolux UltraSilencer Vacuum Contains iPod Dock Swedish Vacuum Has iPod Dock, Claims Music While Vacuuming Helps You Vacuum Quicker, Better

ish giant Electrolux has been making vacuums for over 90 years, so it's
about time they included an iPod dock in their models. Their
UltraSilencer line of canister vacuum cleaners will soon include an
iPod dock, and they didn't stop there, as they even did a scientific
study to prove it's usefulness.
Electroluxย has released a 12-page whitepaper on their research into
Music Assisted Vacuum Cleaning , which was written at the Electrolux
Centre for Acoustics Research in Stockholm. In case you didn't know,
the Swedes take their vacuum cleaning very seriously. Their study took
10 randomly selected people, and asked them to vacuum in various rooms,
while not listening to music, then while listening to music. Their
results found that aย personย listening to music had more 'sweeps per
minute' while vacuuming (38 without music vs. 127 while listening to
electronica). Their test subjects also felt better generally after
listening to music than not, after using the vacuum cleaner.
All of this is promotion for Electrolux's upcoming addition to the
UltraSilencer line of vacuum cleaners, which will feature an iPod dock
and big speakers forย convenientย recharging and playback of your iPod
and it's music while doing boring chores like vacuuming.
Despite all the the buzz around theย announcementย and pictures of the
new iPod dock model, there hasn't been a price or official release
dateย announcedย yet from Electrolux. Their current UltraSilencer vacuum
(sans iPod Dock) currently costs $300 in the United States.

Harman Kardon GLA-55 Unveiled Expensive GLA-55 Speakers Revealed, Chrome, Touch Controls, $1000 price tag

Harman Kardon has unleashed a pair of very expensive high-end speakers.
The GLA-55 feature a diamond-inspired transparent design and (according
to Harman Kardon) combine numerous proprietary technologies to
provide the highest audio quality. Oh yeah, and a $1000 price tag.
Harman Kardon is a well known audio equipment company, and
their latest PC speaker set is theย definitionย of 'high-end'. The
GLA-55 offer things like Atlas AL and CMMD transducers, allowing better
soundย qualityย at high and low frequencies. HK boasts that the GLA-55's
equalization is optimized to allow a rich sound stage over multiple
different positions of the speakers, which is good for a 2.0 PC speaker set.
The GLA-55 also features 'touch-sensitive controls' on the device, which
I assume is like a touchscreen. But it isn't just a set of high-end
speakers, as the GLA-55 is also a piece of art according to Harman
Kardon VP Kurt Sollund. If you're looking to purchase a new piece of art
for your computer desk that will also help you hear the funny sounds on
your YouTube clips, the Harman Kardon GLA-55 speaker set is now out and

Maxell MXSP-D240 iPod Dock MXSP-D240 Dock Opts For Simple Design, Base Functionality, Looks Great

If you re looking for a universal iPod dock that, somewhat refreshingly
some might say, opts to offer somewhat rudimentary functionality on and
over offering all the bells and whistles associated with many other iPod
docks currently on the market, the newly announced Maxell MXSP-D240 iPod
Dock could be of interest.
Dispensing with over complication, the Maxell MXSP-D240 iPod Dock is,
admittedly, hardly going to inspire those with a passion for feature
lists as long as their arm, but, let s be honest here, some people just
want an iPod docking system that ll just play their music and, really,
there s little wrong with that.
The Maxell MXSP-D240 iPod Dock, which sports a design apparently based
on a drum (its 53mm speakers being mounted at both sides) offers 2.5W x
2.5W output, boasts (if that s the right word) a frequency response of
60HZ " 20kHz, comes supplied with a remote and, well, that pretty much
your lot.
Weighing in at 1.2kg, the Maxell MXSP-D240 iPod Dock is set to hit the
Japanese market before the end of the month when it ll retail at around
the equivalent of โEUR76 (circa $114 / pound sterling67 as at the time
of writing) and, whilst it may not float your boat feature-wise, its
hard not to dig the pretty cool and rather minimalist design.

Logic3 iStationGO Travel Speakers for iPod, iPhone, Music Phones… iStationGO Compact Portable Speaker System Released: Cheap, Cheerful & Colorful

Logic3 have now released their new iStationGO Portable Speaker System
which, aside from offering a particularly compact design that ll easily
fit into all but the smallest of bags, thanks to utilising line-in
input, will work with just about any audio equipment that offers up a
3.5mm headphone socket " so you can factor in iPods, the iPhone, music
cell phones, the PSP, et al.
Admittedly there are those who ll cringe at any audio equipment that
relies on the headphone socket by way of input in terms of the
associated sound quality but, lets be honest here, if you re even
tempted to buy this you won t be considering a purchase expecting
audiophile quality sound (indeed, you would hardly be listening to
iPods, music phones and the like if this is a key concern anyhow), No,
you d be buying this on account of its portability and pretty much for
that reason alone.
In that respect, and aside from the quality of sound it undoubtedly
delivers, the iStationGO Portable Speaker System pretty much does and
offers exactly what you d expect it to, what with it offering an
innovative folding design (making it all the more compact when not in
use), a mere 4 watts output and relying on battery power (4 x AAA
batteries to be exact).
The iStationGO Portable Speaker System is available in black, silver,
blue and the all too obligatory pink and will set you back a not
unreasonable (considering) pound sterling19.99 a pop. A possible
stocking filler for Christmas, perhaps?

ArcherMind Shows Android-powered In-car Navigation System Android-based Portable Navigator Device With 3G, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth

It's no surprise that Android has managed to get to people's hearts with
its amazing functionality that has convinced more and more manufacturers
to have it run on their mobile devices. What's even more interesting is
that although the Motorola Droid is (also known as) the first-ever
Android-based in-car navigation solution, folks from ArcherMind have
announced that they're the first to market such a system.
Present at the Embedded Technology 2009 trade show in Yokohama, Japan,
ArcherMind showed off a 7-inch (800 x 480 display) device that they're
selling to various Chinese automakers, for some time now. Built with
Chinese hardware makers and equipped with Marvell Technology Group Ltd's
ARM core processor, the Android-powered in-car navigation system allows
web browsing via 3G (W-CDMA) or Wi-Fi, connects to your portable media
player or phone via Bluetooth, plays audio files and has a port to
connect a hard drive or an SD card.
Although we're pretty sure it won't fit inside of your expensive four
wheeler, keep in mind that ArcherMind Android nav system is actually
meant to be attached to the dashboard of a low-priced vehicle —
which is why we'll assume it won't cost too much.

Bang Olufsen Announced the BeoVision 10 LED-Backlit HDTV BeoVision 10 Offers a 40-IN LED-Backlit Full HD Panel; Asks $8,750 For Everything in the Box

I know, I know, talking about an expensive Bang Olufsen product during
these economic times is probably not the best idea in the world right?
But if Bang Olufsen know how to do one thing, that s to offer you an
exquisite audio/video performance so they can just as well charge you
for it.

The Danish company has announced a new LED-backlit HDTV, the BeoVision
10 and I ll tell you from the very beginning that you ll have to pay
around $8,750 for it. Sure you ll say you could either get a cheaper
40-inch HDTV or for the same amount of money you could end up with a
bigger screen TV. Either way you d still have some change left for
dinner and a movie. And you wouldn t be wrong!

But the BeoVision 10 still deserves our attention. It will strike us
both in features and design as most Bang Olufsen products do. The flat
screen TV has been conceived to be wall mounted and it will definitely
impress everyone that happens to pass through your living room. The
artists from Bang Olufsen have combined high-gloss polished aluminum,
glass and the completely black screen to offer you an HDTV which
will turn heads even when it s not actually turned on.

Turning the BeoVision 10 on will reveal unique video and audio
capabilities. In terms of features, this 40-inch beast will offer a
white LED-backlit LCD panel, 200/240Hz technology, motion compensation
technology, integrated surround sound, DVB-HD module, electronic
curtains and support for the addition of up to five extra speakers. The
HDTV comes with a two-way stereo loudspeaker system and a center bass.
If that s not enough for you, then you can always add the surround sound
system you prefer. Sure you d have to pay extra for the speaker system
and I am sure that Bang Olufsen will gladly sell you one of their own.

Now, when you re done dreaming about it, you can always get the cheapest
LED-backlit HDTV and postpone buying the real Bang Olufsen HDTV until
the economy comes back from the dead.

KEF HTB2SE-W Wireless Subwoofer Release & Pricing Confirmed HFADPCM Wireless Technology, 250 Watt Class D Amplifier

If you re anything like me you have a pet hate of cables and this is
especially true when you re trying to hook up AV equipment in your front
room as the clutter of wires is hardly appealing but, thanks to KEF and
their new wireless HTB2SE-W Wireless Subwoofer, you can at least remove
one set of wiring from the equation should you be looking to add a new
subwoofer to your home theater set-up.
The result of combining two of their products, namely their HTB2
subwoofer and their Universal Wireless kit, the KEF HTB2SE-W Wireless
Subwoofer is billed as offering CD quality sound (which is sufficient
for most of us) courtesy of a 250 watt Class D amplifier driving a
dynamic 10 bass driver and a 10 auxiliary bass radiator with audio
signals being transmitted wirelessly, and freed from interference,
thanks to HFADPCM wireless technology.
Finally, discriminating music and movie lovers can have a great
sounding subwoofer without having to fuss with wires and complicated
setup , commented Alec Chanin, President of KEF America who introduced
the KEF HTB2SE-W Wireless Subwoofer. With our new HTB2SE-W, the
end-user can be up and running in minutes without wires running across
their floor. Better yet, its unique design with vertical or horizontal
placement options, it can be placed almost anywhere in the listening
area. This sub is finally what the market has been waiting for.

Of course, you ll pay for the privilege of going wire-free, specifically
to the tune of a pretty steep $1,200, but if your loathing of trailing
cables snaking throughout a room is anywhere on par with my own you ll
more than likely see the HTB2SE-W as worth the outlay, especially if you
re intending to locate the device remotely (say, behind the sofa) just
for that all important extra kick.

The KEF HTB2SE-W Wireless Subwoofer is set to commence shipping from
October but, if you want to secure yours now, you can place an advanced
order directly with KEF to secure yourself one ahead of release.

Pioneer CDJ-2000 Digital Turntable 6.1-in WQVGA Full-Color 480x234 LCD, rekordbox Digital Music Database, Built-In 24-bit/48 kHz Sound Card

It's been nearly 15 years now since Pioneer revolutionized the
professional DJ experience with the introduction of its first fully
digital electronic DJ turntable system the CDJ-1000 and we have been
anxiously awaiting the next iteration in the series. Well, the wait is
over. Pioneer announced today that it is ready to launch its next
generation digital turntable, the CDJ-2000, and we couldn't be happier
with the result. They've taken one of the best digital turntables on the
market and made it even better.
Back in the day it was all about spinning vinyl. Professional DJs
manipulated the black disks in clubs all over the world churning out
their art for millions to enjoy. With the advent of digital music, it
seemed that the world of the DJ would change forever. Would the result
be the same without the tactile nature of old-school LPs? Would DJs be
able to work their magic with CDs and MP3s? With Pioneer's digital
turntables you can work CDs like LPs and forget about lugging along your
laptop to access your digital music. This thing is heavy on
accessibility. You can get to your music whether it's on CD, DVD,
portable hard drive or flash memory device and in formats like MP3, AAC,
WAV and AIFF.
The Pioneer CDJ-2000 represents a step-change in digital DJ equipment.
This latest version sports a huge 6.1-in WQVGA color LCD panel for
displaying song titles and jacket art as well as detailed track
information so DJs can select songs at a glance. The wave data of each
song is also illustrated on screen, showing high and low amplitude to
further assist DJs. Two additional new features on the CDJ-2000 include
the Needle Search function, which gives DJs instant access to any part
of a song just by touching the Needle Search pad (it's like moving the
LP under the needle, get it?) and a new enhanced jog dial that gives the
user the ability to adjust the tension and feel of the dial from light
to heavy while being guided by integrated illumination in darkened
environments.
You also get several of the tried and true features from the original
CDJ-1000 like Pioneer's rekordbox digital music management software, the
ability to link together up to four CDJ-2000 units with integrated
DJ-Link, and up to 35 controls on the surface of each player to trigger
other devices, like DJ effecters and software by way of HID and/or MIDI.
The CDJ-2000 will be available in November with a suggested retail price
of $2,150.

JVC TH-BA1 TH-SB100 4.1 Channel Sound Bar Home Theater Systems, Wireless Subwoofer, Built-In Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS Decoding

For those of us that don't have the room for a complete set of surround
sound speakers but still want to be able to enjoy the sensation of being
surrounded by our entertainment audio, there are systems on the market
today making use of a technology being called virtual surround sound .
Most of these systems come in the form of a long, narrow bar that
basically combines five speakers (two front, two rear, and a center
channel) into one neat little package. If you're looking for even more
options in your sound bar selection, JVC has just announced the release
of two new 4.1-channel home theater audio systems, the TH-BA1 and
TH-SB100 with Blu-ray player.
The main idea behind the sound bar audio system is convenience. If you
don't want to deal with wires running all over your living room or you
live in one of the world's spacious studio apartments, they are the
perfect solution. The sound bar itself is designed to fit either under
your television or mounted on the wall behind it. Either way, it doesn't
take up that much space. As with other systems of this ilk, the JVC
TH-BA1 and TH-SB100 eliminate the need for rear speakers.
JVC uses their front surround technology to fool your ears into thinking
that you have rear speakers. If you haven't actually experienced it,
it's pretty wild. The 220W black speaker sports four speakers, an
amplifier and a sound processor. As for sound formats, it also has
integrated Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS decoding.
Set-up for the new systems is a no-brainer. You basically hook a single
cable from the sound bar to the source (cable or satellite receiver,
Blu-ray player, etc.). The bar has two digital optical audio inputs and
a single analog. Each system features the same 2.GHz wireless 100W
subwoofer with 6.83-in (8-cm) driver and sound bar while the TH-SB100
also comes with a separate JVC Blu-ray player. Both systems also feature
a remote control.
The JVC TH-BA1 and TH-SB100 home theater sound bar systems are expected
to hit store shelves later this month for $399.99 and $699.99, respectively.

Sony SRS-GD50iP USB 2.1 Speaker Set 60 Watts Peak Power, Integrated iPod/iPhone Charging Cradle, Powered Sub-Woofer, Remote

When will the madness end? I mean, really, how many iPod docks and
desktop speaker systems does this planet need? If you were to ask this
very same question to the execs at Sony they would respond with one
more . Their latest introduction is yet another iPod/iPhone docking
station speaker system combo, the SRS-GD50iP USB 2.1 Speaker Set, is
probably a worthy contender in the genre and is probably a great
addition to your PC if you happen to have crap speakers or your laptop
if you have the whole port replicator thing going on, but I gotta tell
ya, I am having a bit of a hard time getting all electric on this one.
The announcement from Sony today that they would launch yet another iPod
speaker system was greeting with the sound of one hand clapping. The
SRS-GD50iP is a 2.1-channel USB speaker system with an integrated
iPhone/iPod docking station. The system was styled with the computer
user in mind so don't go thinking you can use this for your home
entertainment system. You can synchronize content on any iPhone or iPod
with iTunes directly through USB transfer with something Sony is calling
the True Dock and the SRS-GD50iP will also charge your device.
It does offer a pretty simple connection via USB and the 60W (40W sub,
10+10W speakers) speakers should privide plenty of sound for most gamers
and other mediaphiles. As an added bonus you get a powered subwoofer and
remote control. The Sony SRS-GD50iP USB 2.1 Speaker Set is compatible
with selected iPod and iPhone models and will be available any day now.
Expect this system to have a price tag of around $200.

Altec Lansing iML237 Orbit Speakers USB Connectivity, No Batteries, Case Included

Just over two years ago, Altec Lansing introduced its Orbit line of
portable speakers and it seemed that they were destined to end up in the
throwaway category. They were small, fairly low-powered, and required
three AAA batteries to keep them going. Oh yeah, and they didn't have a
USB connection. That was so 2007. My how times have changed. In what
appears to be a feat of customer-focused reengineering, Altec Lansing
today announced the re-release of their Orbit line of speakers and this
time they mean it. The new Orbit iML237 speakers are an ultra-portable
pair of speakers that has ditched the batteries and connection cables in
lieu of a more notebook-friendly demographic.
The new Orbit USB weighs in at less than six ounces and boasts Altec
Lansing's Audio Alignment design, which, according to the folks at Altec
Lansing, is the precise balance and craftsmanship of the key audio
components — the driver, the enclosure and the electronics. Now
that is definitely some big talk for such small speakers. The speakers
sport a cool circular shape and feature retractable stands so you can
prop them up on your desk or other hard surface. Along with the two
speakers, the Orbit USB includes a neoprene case with hook-on carabineer
as well as tangle-free cord storage.
The new Altec Lansing Orbit USB speakers are 100% USB connected and no
longer have the attached 3.5-mm plug for jacking in your iPod or cell
phone. This pretty much means that they have relegated this set of
soundmakers to the laptop set. The also might make a great addition to a
corporate meeting room for enhanced multimedia presentations.
The Altec Lansing Orbit USB iML237 will be available in mid-September at
BestBuy, Amazon.com and other leading consumer electronics retailers, as
well as at www.alteclansing.com. MSRP is $49.95.

Altec Lansing MIX Boombox Audio Dock Dual Aux-In Jacks, Universal iPod/iPhone Dock, 5.25-in Side-Firing Subwoofer

Are you convinced that all audio docks are the same? Like you, I have
pretty much seen just about all there is when it comes to iPod stereo
speaker systems and charging docks. You plug in your iPod (or iPhone if
you still have a job and can afford one), it charges, you can listen to
your tunes, end of story. But what if you have two friends that want to
hook up their iPods to your dock and you only have one available slot?
How about the latest product offering from the audio engineers at Altec
Lansing, the MIX Boombox audio dock. If one dock is good, three is even
better.
The Altec Lansing MIX Boombox is the latest audio dock from the folks
known more for their computer sound systems than their iPod friendly
gear. In what looks like an homage to the 80s shoulder-slung sound
systems of old, the MIX Boombox definitely looks the part. Actually, I
think I saw this same design in the movie Breakin', but that was a long
time ago. So what do you get? Well, for starters, this thing has three
options for audio in. Yeah, I said three. You can dock your iPod or
iPhone on the front and there are two separate 3.5-mm aux-in jacks so
you can connect two more devices. The pic is a bit confusing, because of
the way the iPod on the top is standing up you'd think there was another
dock up there too. Sadly, there isn't.
Some of the other features found on the MIX Boombox include a
side-mounted 5.25-in subwoofer, seven-band graphic equalizer, digital FM
tuner, and clip-on full-function remote control. On the sound side of
things, it sports dual 1-in horn-loaded polypropylene tweeters and dual
3-in mid range drivers. You can power it with either the included AC
adapter or eight, count 'em, eight D-cell batteries. Now that's sure to
add some weight to this portable music system.
The Altec Lansing MIX Boombox is available for sale now with an MSRP of
$299.95. If you need more info or want to see additional pics you can
surf on over to www.alteclansing.com.

Big Bang Speaker Is Da Bomb Portable Speaker Shaped Like Cartoon Bomb

Who hasn't felt like hooking the iPod up to an explosive device at one
time or another? I know I have. Apparently, so have the guys over at
IWantOneOfThose.com. Their latest speaker creation, the Big Bang
Speaker, is sure to have you laughing out loud as you jam along to your
favorite tunes. It also has to rank up there as one of the most creative
uses of speaker design that I have seen so far. It sure beats all of
those brightly colored mini speakers that look like they were all
stamped out of the same mold, doesn't it?

According to the IWOOT website, the Big Bang Speaker is modeled after
those old time Inspector Clouseau style bombs. I personally remember
that little alien fellow from Loony Toons using them too. Anyway, it not
only looks cool, it actually has two high quality speakers that deliver
clear and crisp sounds when you hook it up to your MP3 player or laptop.

You can connect practically anything with a headphone socket to this
little ball of explosive sound using the leads provided and it can be
powered by USB or taken on the go with 4 AA batteries. You can got your
own Big Bang Speaker at www.iwantoneofthose.com for 29.99GBP (about $50).
