I hope you didn t expect not to see any rumors regarding Apple s new
iPhone OS this week. Version 4.0 is getting closer every minute as it s
going to be unveiled at Apple s tablet dedicated media event. And
speaking of the tablet, we hear that it could bear a rather logical, and
boring, name, the iTablet instead of the iSlate.
But let s take things slow, shall we? Speaking of iPhone OS 4.0 reports
say that Apple will introduce some new ways of multitasking and
syncing. Multitasking is definitely something iPhone users have been
waiting for a long while and it s about time they got it. The rumored
dual-core processor should definitely help with that although we have at
least six more months to go until the iPhone 4G comes to life.
One other interesting feature might be the introduction of the
Placebase-made mapping system that should replace Google s Google Maps.
Back in 2009 we told you how Apple has purchased Placebase, a company
that could rival Google when it comes to maps and GPS-like solutions.
With the introduction of the tablet that s supposed to run iPhone OS we
might see Placebase s services finally revealed under Apple s rule.
Multitouch gesture controls will be available throughout the OS in a
move that should make the user interface even easier to use.
Unfortunately those of you that are still playing with the very first
iPhone might not be able to install iPhone OS 4.0 just yet as the new OS
is made for the iPhone 3G, 3GS and beyond.
But no matter how cool iPhone OS 4.0 is going to be, the star of the
show next week will be the tablet. Rumored to be called the iSlate for a
long while now, the device might surprise us with other names. Called
the iTablet according to some or the iPad according to others, the
tablet should be a great device no matter what its real name will be. We
expect even more rumors in the following days, so stay tuned!

ASUS Eee Keyboard PC Coming Next Month Release Date Confirmed, $500 price tag, Atom N270 Processor
ASUS showed off their Eee Keyboard PC at CES 2009, but the delayed
little computer that could has gotten it's release date confirmed
– next month, February 2010. ASUS hasn't explained what has
delayed the little computer. The unique computer was largely designed
with 'nettop' components, and some in the tech community have suggested
that these could catch on in popularity like netbooks.
The Eee Keyboard PC
will be powered by an Intel Atom N270 processor, clocked at 1.6 GHz. It
isn't Pine Trail, but since the main appeal of Pine Trail is its low
power consumption, it isn't as vital a loss compared a netbook. The Eee
Keyboard PC will have a single DDR2 slot, which will be occupied by a
single stick of 1GB RAM.
Obviously where size is an issue, ASUS went with SSD. The Eee Keyboard
PC will feature a 16GB solid-state drive, with a 32GB SSD drive being
offered as an option later on. The built in battery will provide 4 hours
of battery life, although I think most users will have the Eee Keyboard
PC connected to a television, so power won't be a problem.
On the software side, Windows XP Home will be the pre-installed OS, and
as have some have commented, likely your only Windows choice with a 16GB
hard drive (Vista takes up 15GB with system files, and 7 takes of 17GB).
I don't think Android or some Linux distro would be a bad choice here,
although ASUS is including XP from the factory.
What makes the ASUS Eee Keyboard PC stand apart from the few Keyboard PC
clones we've seen pop-up is the inclusion of a 5-inch touch display off
to the right side of the keyboard. It can function as the main display
of the computer, but ASUS intends it to either be used as a touchpad for
controlling the system, or for quick access to widgets.
The Eee Keyboard PC will also include a variety of video ports for
connecting it to a larger screen. ASUS hasn't decided on a final price,
but it'll retail for $500 to $600 and is shipping next month.

EKS Otus Raw DJ Controller Revealed EKS Has Outed The Otus RAW DJ Controller For NAMM 2010
Music gear manufacturer EKS has leaked a new version of their Otus DJ
controller ahead of the NAMM 2010 show that starts tomorrow in Anaheim,
California.ย The EKS Otus RAW DJ Controller provides the standard
functionality DJs expect out of a turntable controller, plus some new
added functionality and real turntable-like control.
The EKS Otus RAW DJ Controller is a turntable-style music controller
which allows DJs to cue, scratch, modulate and manhandle the tracks they
play in a set.ย Otus RAW can be used in a eith
er a single- or double-deck setup, giving DJs the option of purchasing
one unit and using it with a vinyl turntable or using two together to
manage all of their music virtually.
Any vinyl-friendly DJ will tell you that one drawback to many virtual DJ
controllers is the lack of a traditional pitch slider, which is often
replaced by a touch-sensitive pitch strip.ย The EKS Otus RAW improves
on the standard Otus DJ controller by adding a set of analog-style pitch
sliders with the full feeling of traditional pitch control.ย Beyond
that, the EKS Otus RAW DJ Controller also includes a wide range of
assignable rotary knobs for functions like EQ and effect modulation.ย
It also includes four touch-sensitive trigger pads which can be assigned
to trigger samples or act as a virtual drum kit.
The EKS Otus RAW DJ Controller will be shown at NAMM 2010 starting on
January 14th.ย Otus RAW will ship in the Spring of 2010, yet a price
has yet to be announced.

Ableton x Serato The Bridge Official Music production & DJing Now Bridged Together
Those with a passion for music making already know who Ableton and
Serato are, what they may not know is that the two companies have been
working together since October 2008 to come up with a new product, The
Bridge, that they promise to be the future of digital DJing .
Narrowing the gap between music production and DJing, the new produ
ct sits somewhere between the full versions of Ableton Live and the
Serato Scratch Live (or ITCH). That's because using The Bridge now
allows you to import DJ sets in Ableton and control the tempo or the
pitch, while Serato allows you to import your favorite Ableton
instruments and gives you turntable-style control of your own multitrack
productions.
What's even more interesting is that The Bridge won't cost you a dime if
you have both the registered version of Serato Scratch Live or ITCH
hardware and the Ableton Live 8 or Suite 8. Regarding availability,
there's nothing official other than coming soon, but we'll make sure you
know more when there's more.
Meanwhile here's stuff from their websites:
Ableton to Serato: The Bridge gives you the ultimate mixtape creation
tool. Perform your mix in Scratch Live or ITCH and save it as an
automated Ableton Live Set. Play your mix rather than cut and paste in a
DAW. Forget about having to start a mixtape from scratch because of a
mistake at minute fifty-nine. Each song is recorded and laid out on a
track in Live separately, and any moves you've made with your hardware
are recorded along with the track. Edit, add beat synced loops and
virtual instruments, stretch, chop and manipulate your mix as required

Sony Adding TV Tuner To PS3 Sony Japan Releasing Add-on DVR Peripheral for PS3
Since the Playstation 2 and later, Sony has always envisioned the
PlayStation (2 and 3) as being at the centerpiece of your home
multimedia setup, with its Blu-Ray/DVD capabilities, as well as the
other digital media playing abilities it has. Following Sony Europe's
lead, Sony Japan is releasing a TV tuner add-on peripheral for Japanese
PlayStation 3s.
The Sony Torne will offer Japanese gamers the chance to record and
timeshift (think DVR) TV programming. It'll be able to record TV content
directly to either the PS3's internal HDD or to an external HDD attached
via USB. It will be able to record TV shows at any time – even if
the PS3 is being used for gam
ing, watching Blu-Rays, or even turned off.
The PSP has been big for Sony, and they've included that with their
plans. If you save the video files from the Torne onto a Sony Media
Stick, you can view it on a PSP. Likewise, if your PS3 and PSP are on
the same network, you can wirelessly stream content from the Torne to
your PSP for wireless viewing. Obviously, this is a well-developed
product. Sony hasn't missed any steps here.
A similar add-on called PlayTV was launched in the UK in 2008 and
Australia in 2009. Like the Torne, it provided DVR like functionality to
the PS3, and has been fairly popular with the PS3 crowd. The PlayTV also
allowed you to stream content to the PSP, and even, a few Sony Ericsson
phones.
While the Sony Torne will be released in Japan in March 2010, North
America has been strangely left out of any such DVR add-ons. TV Tuner
add-ons have been rumored for the Xbox 360 for some time, but so far, no
such devices have come to fruition.

Light Blue Optics Light Touch Revealed Projector Touchscreen Uses Holograms, Lasers, Infrared Beams
It's only been 2010 for a few days and the future is already here. The
UK's own Light Blue Optics demoed a new device at CES, the Light Touch.
The small pico-projector projects a 10-inch display that will respond to
human interaction like a conventional touchscreen would.
/span>That's right, the Light Touch will turn any flat surface into a
10-inch touchscreen with a screen resolution of 800 x 480. Obviously,
the applications of such a device are limitless.
Light Blue Optics' show some press photos of a woman at a clothing store
browsing a small display with information on productions, and another
shows a group of friends viewing a menu on a table. If this technology
becomes practical and cheap enough, it could put Microsoft Surface out
of business.
The image is done with what Light Blue Optics calls HLP or, holographic
laser projector. The HLP powers the pico-projector part of the device,
and unlike most projectors you see on the market, the Light Touch is
powered by lasers, not an LED bulb. The touch sensing is done via
infrared sensors.
As for the Light Touch unit itself, its coming equipped with 2GB of
flash memory along with a microSD slot. It's capable of running Adobe
Flash, and has WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. It's running Windows CE
and Light Blue Optics demoed off various apps at CES, including a
twitter app.
Various sources at CES got a first-hand look at the device and reported
that it only supports single-touch, and while there were some mistakes
on the infrared sensing – it was decent for the most part and felt
like a conventional touchscreen.
At press time, Light Blue Optics hasn't given any details on pricing or
availability.

Inklet Trackpad Tablet App Revealed Inklet Trackpad App Turns MacBook Trackpad Into a Tablet
Ten One Design have announced Inklet, an app that turns the trackpad on
your MacBook into a genuine tablet input device.ย Inklet will give your

10-In Apple Table Picture Emerges Leaked iSlate Picture Revealed; The Tablet is a Giant iPhone
There we go, folks! The first leaked pics of the Apple iSlate have been
found. It s either that or some photoshopping skils have been seriously
put to the test. If we are to believe everything we hear, and you know
we don t, we d tell you that this enormous iPhone is the 10-inch tablet
that s supposed to be launched on January 26/27.On the other hand, for
months now, we have been talking about the first Apple tablet that is
going to look more like a giant iPhone. So why shouldn t be the picture
above be real? After all, our mind is already set to expect a tablet
like an iPhone. Should we be surprised by the supposedly leaked photo?
Should we expect more?
I will admit that some tablet designs that have circulated the web in
the last couple of months look great but don t expect Apple to follow
those particular lines. A larger iPhone as a tablet sounds pretty
plausible. Everyone recognizes the iPhone already so why change a
friendly face?
As you can see the device in the picture is not complete. It lacks most
parts as it s only the glass meant to be used for the tablet. The holes
in it represent the home button and a speaker. Will a speaker be enough
to deliver all that multimedia content?
Furthermore, I would imagine that he guy or gal that snapped this
quickly taken photo would be able to present other pictures of the
device which would prove its authenticity. Will we see more in the
following days?
Before we draw any final conclusion we could also add the Apple factor
to the hypothesis. Has Cupertino leaked this picture on purpose in order
to watch the bloggers argue about it? We might never find out the answer
to that question but we will see the tablet in two weeks from now and we
re definitely excited to see what it will be like

its concepts or whether you re printing 3D toys for your children, the
uPrint Plus will do the job. But if you re ready to pay $20,000 for the
printer then you surely won t want to print toys for your kids as you ll
probably have enough dollars left to buy them whatever toy they desire.
The new printer is going to be ready to ship at some point in March.
Should you replace the former Dimension uPrint? Well, the 3D printer is
bigger, faster and more efficient. What could you want more, besides the
$20,000 of course?
The printer has a small footprint which permits desktop use: 25 x
26-inches and it has a build envelope of 8 x 8 x 6 inches which makes it
33% bigger than its predecessor. And you ll be able to make even larger
3D models right now.
Using the Smart Supports material usage is dropped by 40% so you won t
consume the same amount of material as you did before. Furthermore, the
3D modeling is 69% faster thanks to the SR-30, a support soluble
material that will increase the speed of the modeling process.
The uPrint Plus printer will come with various color materials for you
to use in order to differentiate various parts of the 3D model. These
colors include red, blue, olive, black, dark gray, nectarine,
fluorescent yellow, and ivory so go ahead, get those $20,000 and start
designing. March is almost here!

Seagate BlackArmor PS110 External HDD Revealed New HDD Sports USB 3.0, Comes With Backup, Bare-Metal Recovery Software
Seagate's BlackArmor line of external HDD's is nothing new, but at CES th
ey showed off the new PS110 model, which comes with some excellent
features that complement the high-end BlackArmor series. The HDD itself
comes in at 500GB 7,200rpm and comes in a slimming black case. It's also
USB 3.0 and Seagate brags that it'll transfer files three times faster
than a stock USB 2.0 drive.
In addition to the USB 3.0 drive, the PS110 will also come with a
PCIExpress card that will enable your computer for USB 3.0 connectivity.
Also bundled with the drive is Acronis, a business-grade backup suite
with automated full-system backups, as well as SafetyDrill+, a
bare-metal recovery software suite (for the uninitiated, bare-metal
restore is when you restore from scrach, with no OS installed).
The PS110 and its bundled software are compatible with Windows XP and
later. Potential buyers should note that the PCI-Express USB 3.0 card is
usually only useful with laptops, so desktop buyers beware. The
BlackArmor PS110 is now shipping, and will cost $180.

Microsoft Arc Keyboard Follows on from MS Arc Mouse MS Arc Keyboard Offers Innovative Design, Wireless Connectivity
Back in July of 2008 (that long ago?) we brought you news concerning
Microsoft s (then) new Arc Mouse and now, somewhat later than one would
have expected, Microsoft have officially announced the Microsoft Arc
wireless keyboard.
The design tenets that we looked to for the Arc Keyboard were
simplicity and crisp softness, creating an aesthetic for this product
that is casual and sophisticated at the same time, said Monique
Chatterjee, industrial designer for Microsoft Hardware who introduced
the Microsoft Arc wireless keyboard. We drew our design inspiration
directly from the places where we envision this product will be used so
it perfectly blends with existing home accessories.
Microsoft Arc Wireless Keyboard Key Features:Battery Life Indicator
– Glowing light tells you when battery is low. Press function +
escape to easily turn the keyboard on and off.Clean lines and eye
catching shape – Show it off with an eye-catching shape that
complements your style.Lightweight and Compact – Works here, there
and everywhere.Stowable Nano 2.4 GHz Wireless Transceiver – Leave
the transceiver plugged into your PC, or stow it in the keyboard.
The MS Arc Wireless Keyboard is set to retail for around $60 when it
gains release on February 21st as (initially?) a Best Buy exclusive.

Datacolor Spyder3HDMI Revealed New Device Lets You Recalibrate Your HDTV Without Computer

Luddites get their HDTV perfectly tune.
The Spyder3HDMI may help you in more than one way, Once calibrated,
consumers will see an amazing difference in the viewing experience, as
well as a reduction in their energy consumption because a calibrated TV
is more energy efficient, An Datacolor Vice President said in their

Nobil Reveals Juice Ingenious Mobile Charger by Hiroaki Tanaka The Juice Mobile Charger Offers Multi-Faceted Charging Options For Gadgets On The Go
The Juice Ingenious Mobile Charger is a mobile power supply that
provides multi-faceted charging options for your USB or battery-powered
gadgets.ย The Juice Mobile Charger stores juice in it's mobile
battery pack that can be redistributed to your gadgets as needed.
Designer Hiroaki Tanaka created the Juice Ingenious Mobile Charger as a
solution for those of us who carry multiple gadgets along with us on the
go.ย Your mobile phone, digital camera, portable media player and more
can all suck up a significant amount of power during the day.ย For
longer trips without a power source, the Juice Mobile Charger can help
top off your gear as their batteries drain.
The system works by plugging into a wall unit and charging Juice's
internal battery.ย LED lights in Juice's body display the amount of
charge the unit is holding, ready to charge your gadgets when a power
source isn't handy.ย It'll charge AA batteries on AIR HOLDERS on
either side of the body, in addition to a USB output for your
USB-focused accessories.
The Juice Ingenious Mobile Charger (no word if that ingenious is part
of the title or just an adjective added to juice up the press release)
will be available in Japan and Taiwan in early 2010, and likely to the
US later next year.ย No word on pricing just yet– nor is there
any concrete data about storage capacity.
