released iRiver Wave-Home or, for that matter, their SPINN (both of
which we're especially smitten with) iRiver's latest portable media
player is by no means an undesirable PMP in coming with a Flash based UI
allowing for magazine style layout and a 4.3 touchscreen as well as
compatibility with a host of file formats including all the usual
suspects as well as XviD, FLAC and OGG.
Unfortunately it's not all quite as good as it could have been, however,
as the iRiver P7's display offers a not especially impressive (actually
rather poor for such a sized device, in truth) 480 x 272 resolution
which will, we suspect, get a few potential purchasers looking
elsewhere. But, to be fair, the somewhat disappointing display
resolution is made up for in part by the P7's battery life which comes
in at a not too shabby seven hours for video and 53 hours for audio.
Measuring in at a pocket unfriendly 73.4 x 112.3 x 13.6mm and coming
with a mono speaker (another surprise), as well as FM tuner, the iRiver
P7's official page is now live but as of yet iRiver remain tight-lipped
concerning pricing.
