Maxell MXSP-D160 Compact iPod Speaker Dock Portable, Ideal for Desks

If you're looking for a supremely compact iPod speaker dock for you iPod
for use, say, on your desk - where real estate is invariably at a
premium - Maxell's new portable MXSP-D160 iPod speaker dock could be the
answer, especially if you don't have particularly high expectations.

Capable of being powered by an included AC mains adapter or by three AA
batteries (allowing you to relocate the Maxell MXSP-D160 with ease
and/or listen to it away from the availability of mains outlets),
Maxell's iPod speaker dock offers a 165mm diameter footprint, allowing
it to fit snugly in even the most cluttered of places (I'm looking at my
own desk here) though, in terms of output, the Maxell MXSP-D160 iPod
speaker dock offers little in the way of punch, as you'd expect, in
being capable of a mere 1.8W x 1.8W output.

Unfortunately, whilst the Maxell MXSP-D160 iPod speaker dock does come
with a 3.5mm line in socket for connecting other audio equipment it does
not appear, on the face of it, to come with a USB connection allowing
you to dock your iPod and have it connect to your PC/Mac via the device
- which strikes us as something rather more than a mere oversight on
Maxell's part.

No word concerning either pricing or availability at the time of writing.
