days when Casio’s Databank calculator watches were hot, even 25
years back digital technology was cheap, I got my digital watch (no
calculator) for half a dollar. That said, these watches are a little on
the expensive side.Anyway, wonder what's made Casio come out with these
watches. The Japanese are gadget freaks and weirder the gadget more
likely they are to go for it. The element of chic”, though I
can’t put my finger on it, makes these watches expensive in my
opinion. (Is it the checkerboard keyboard plus the color combination?)
Or it could be the number of functions packed into the watch -
stopwatch, 13-language display, auto calendar, and much more.
The DBC32-1A costs $69.95, this black piece is the most expensive one in
the lot. It has a 25-page databank, 8-digit calculator and 5
multi-function alarms. The battery is guaranteed to last you 10 years.
The remaining 4 models are limited edition pieces meant to remind you
that life is not always black and white. They cost $59 a piece. For me,
any guy who can walk into office with either the orange or green model
on his wrist is either a real free spirit or has no sense of what looks
cool and what looks hideous.
