range that could be headed for CES (and hence a wider release) in the
form of the 60GB GZ-MG840 and the 120GB GZ-MG880, both of which not only
offer HDD based storage but also come with integrated microSDHC card
slots and, just like other models in JVC's Everio range, also come with
a YouTube video capture features.
Both the Everio GZ-MG840 and Everio GZ-MG880 come with 32x optical zoom
Konica Minolta lenses complete with image stabilisation, a 2.7' LCD
display, record at a maximum resolution of 720 x 480 (or 352 x 240 when
in YouTube friendly mode) as well as 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios and are
also capable of capturing stills.
In terms of storage, JVC state that the 120GB Everio GZ-MG880 can record
up to just shy of 29 hours of MPEG-2 footage courtesy of its HDD whilst
just shy of 2 hours of additional footage can be stored to an 8GB
microSDHC card (allowing for a combined total of around 31 hours).
Should you opt for recording in the YouTube friendly mode, however,
you're looking at fitting around 10 hours on an 8GB microSDHC card alone
without even having to resort to the inbuilt hard disks.
