BlackBerry Curve 8900 to Hit U.K Shores on Dec 20

The BlackBerry Curve 8900 (codenamed Javelin) will be available in the
U.K from 20th December onwards - you can purchase this very trendy
Christmas gift from O2, T-Mobile and Carphone Warehouse. This latest
model of the BlackBerry is 13.5 mm thick and the thinnest one with a
full QWERTY keyboard. It weighs 110 grams.


The BlackBerry Curve 8900 features -

A high resolution 480×360 pixel color display on a 2.44 inch TFT
LCD that supports more than 65,000 colors.
Data input and navigation is made easy with a 35 key backlit QWERTY
keyboard; user customizable keys for Send, End, Mute, Lock, VAD; the
user interface is intuitively navigable.
A 3.2 mega pixel camera with auto focus, image stabilization, flash and
2X digital zoom. Using the video camera requires a MicroSD card and you
can execute a video shoot in normal mode: 480×352 pixel and MMS
Mode: 176×144 pixel.
The removable/rechargeable cryptographic lithium cell offers 6 hours of
talk time and 19 days of standby time.
The GPS and BlackBerry Maps feature lets you plan your route and view it
on your BlackBerry. Businesses can use this feature for employee- and
resource-tracking.
The BlackBerry Curve 8900 is 802.11b/g Wi-Fi enabled and offers access
to the BlackBerryยฎ Enterprise Server and the BlackBerryยฎ Internet
Server. You can avail direct Internet browsing and support for UMA/GAN.
However, there is no support for 3G/HSDPA networks.
The media player supports the following media formats for video - DivX,
XviD (MPEG4 Advance Simple Profile), H.263, WMV3 and .3gp, WAV, MIDI,
AMR-NB, G711u/A, GSM610, PCM, MP3, AAC/AAC+/eAAC+, WMA9/10 Standard/Pro
for audio.
