Pentax Announce Optio V20 5X Optical Zoom Point & Shoot Digital Camera

Pentax have announce the latest model in their Optio range of point and
shoot compact digital cameras in the form of the 'ultra-slim' Optio V20
sporting 5X optical zoom, 8 megapixel resolution, face recognition and,
seemingly a prerequisite of compact digital cameras these days, smile
recognition.

Undoubtedly aimed at the less demanding of amateur photographers, the
Pentax Optio V20, which, from an aesthetic standpoint is certainly a
wholly uninspiring affair, also comes with digital camera shake
reduction which automatically selects higher ISO setting (up to 6400) to
reduce blur, 9 point autofocus, a panorama mode which automatically
stitches three images together to create a panoramic scene, a 3' TFT LCD
featuring IPS (In Plane Switching) technology facilitating viewing
angels of up to 170 degrees and 51.1MB of internal storage capacity
expandable with SD/SDHC memory cards.

A solid 'all rounder' for those looking for a compact digital camera for
day to day use, the Pentax Optio V20 is due to be released sometime in
May though, with the market already somewhat saturated by compacts, unit
pricing will prove crucial and, at the time of writing, pricing of the
Optio V20 is yet to be disclosed.
