Skip-away Pro Disc Repair System Repairs Your CDs & DVDs Automatically [Disc Salvation]

Anyone who, like us, is old enough to remember when the CD format was
initially launched will also no doubt recall that, at the time, the CD
format was cited as being pretty much indestructible (I'm fairly sure I
recall a tech TV program actually frying an egg on one, but that could
be down to my medication) though, of course, that has proved wholly
untrue - hence the need for devices like this Skip-away Pro Disc Repair
System.

In fairness, CDs (specifically) and, not quite to the same extent, DVDs
can take a fair share of damage and still deliver the goods but should
one of your discs simply refuse to play ball the Skip-away Pro Disc
Repair System could act to save the day without recourse to hazardous
chemical solutions. Simply pop in the damaged CD/DVD and it'll either
clean it by giving it a quick buff in a mere 15 seconds or, if the disc
is in an especially bad way, it'll work to repair the disc fully
automatically in just three minutes.

The device works by heating up the disc's protective plastic layer to
the point at which it becomes malleable prior to applying pressure to
the disc's surface to melt and smooth away any imperfections such as
scratches prior to giving it a quick polish with an integrated buffing
wheel - the result being a disc surface that's as good as new.

The Skip-away Pro Disc Repair System will work with CDs, DVDs and even
HD DVDs (you'll be wanting to keep those clean, now won't you) but will
not work with Blu-ray discs and retails for around $380 - the result
being that we'll continue using car polish* for the foreseeable future
(*Use at your own risk, we accept no liability if your Debbie Does
Dallas DVD is irreparably ruined, etc, etc).

Just by way of an afterthought - it would be interesting to pit this
device’s repairing abilities against the likes of this USB Disc
Destroyer to see if it could deal with that sort of damage (thus
remdering the USB Disc Destroyer totally worthless). Expect to see a
face-off on YouTube soon, but not from us (perhaps one for the Tech
Digest/Shiny Shiny crowd?).
