Thereโ€ s a Map For That Campaign Mocks AT T New Ad Compares Network Coverage Between Verizon and AT T

Verizon Wireless might just have developed one of its best ad campaigns
ever. The carrier s There s a map for that campaign is clearly
taking a hit at AT T and its exclusive iPhone. As you already know,
there s a famous Apple advertisement which has a pretty catchy slogan:
There s an app for that meant to make you believe that the iPhone can
do pretty much anything. The iPhone can t do pretty much anything but
that s beside the point here. Does the There s a map for that ad
want to make you think Verizon is better than AT T?

Verizon has taken off the gloves on this one and it s definitely going
after AT T for some reason. Has Big Red lost customers to AT T since the
iPhone has landed? It most certainly has! Does it need to be worried
about losing that first place in the U.S. mobile business? No, it doesn
t! Is Verizon trying to get Apple s attention? We might be on to
something here but I don t think Apple is not aware of the qualities of
Verizon s 3G network. After all Verizon did refuse the iPhone before it
was offered to AT T!

The new commercial basically says that Verizon has the best 3G network
out there, or, at least, a network that s much better than AT T s 3G
network:

If you want to know why your 3G coverage works so well on Verizon
Wireless, there s a map for that.

The next commentary is dedicated to AT T:

If you want to know why some people have spotty 3G coverage, there s a
map for that too.

Here's the ad in question:
Verizon s 3G network offers 5x more coverage than AT T s 3G network but
you can see that for yourself in the video below. I really wonder how
Apple and AT T will respond to this new add. Will we see the Apple
tablet arrive with a big Verizon logo on it? Will we see a CDMA version
of the iPhone made for Verizon customers once AT T s exclusivity deal
will expire?

Perhaps AT T should consider expanding even more its 3G network and stop
offering femtocell solutions. According to those smart people behind
Apple s Genius Bar, the average iPhone dropped call rate is about 30%
which doesn t sound good at all. Whose fault is it? Everyone is blaming
AT T and for good reason. What do you have to say about your favorite
carrier?
