already covered the Aspire Timeline AS1810TZ notebooks, the mulittouch
touting Acer Aspire AS5738PG notebook (and, of course, Acer s new
neoTouch S200/beTouch E100, E101, E200 and their Liquid A1 Android
smartphones) Acer make TFTS once more today with news concerning their
Acer Aspire 5738DG 3D laptop which is Acer s first laptop to boast 3D
capabilities thanks to employing 3D CineReal Technology backed up by
TriDef s 3D Experience software bundle " the latter dispensing with the
need for a specialised GPU for 3D display.
Rather than opting for Intel s 3D Vision graphics solution, as mentioned
above, the Acer Aspire 5738DG does away with the need for an expensive
3D GPU thanks to using their 3D CineReal technology, which basically
consists of a special screen coating that, when using polarizing
glasses, allows for 3D viewing. Add into the equation TriDef s 3D
Experience software bundle, which brings the TriDef Media Player
offering 3D movie playback as well as TriDef Ignition software, which
allows for 2D to 3D conversion for application and games touting DirectX
9 (and above) support and what Acer have achieved is a 3D capable laptop
with a particularly (all things considered) appealing price point coming
in at the $1,485 mark.
Aside from its 3D capabilities, the Acer Aspire 5738DG is said by
Engadget to be a Centrino 2 based device offering up to 4GB RAM but, at
this juncture, that s about all the information we have available until
Acer make a full spec sheet available to us.
Needless to say, the moment we can act to firm up the details we ll be
sure offer you an update.
