who has seen their latest round of television commercials can attest to
this. Their mini notebooks are sold in a plethora of colors sure to
attract the attention of tweens everywhere. However, when it comes to
some of their tried and true models (Think Inspiron) Dell hasn't
forgotten about them. Their latest revamp of the Dell Inspiron 13 model
might be too little too late, but only time will tell.
Rolled out in Singapore yesterday (What? You didn't know? Exactly.), the
newest revision to the Dell Inspiron line took shape in the 13-in model.
The two major revisions to the Inspiron 13 now sports some more rounded
lines and a new backlit LCD display. I doubt that the lines will help to
increase sales too much, but the new screen might get some attention.
The notebook update also features a 16:9 display with 1366 x 768
resolution. While the machine is lacking an optical drive (you can get
an attachment, of course) it does include a 2.1GHz Core 2 Duo processor,
2GB RAM and a 320GB hard drive. Other features include GMA 4500 video.
If you want to personalize your PC even more, you can swap out the 2.1
for a 2.4GHz processor, increase your storage space to 500GB and ramp up
the RAM to 4GB. There is no word on when the new Inspiron 13 will be
available Stateside, but it is our best guess that the price point will
be somewhere in the neighborhood of $800.
