Dell Fills out Vostro Line with All-In-One Desktop Model 19-in display, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD

Dell is pretty well known for its line of business-friendly Vostro
computers, but it was generally felt that it was a tad lacking in one
area: the all-in-one. With offices trying to do more with less (space
that is) even desktop real-estate is at a premium. Dell must have
listened because they have recently announced the addition of a new
computer to its Vostro line, the Vostro All-In-One.

The introduction of the Dell Vostro All-In-One is the first for the
well-received Vostro line and it is aimed at helping crowded cubical
rats retrive some of their lost desk space. The Vostro All-In-One sports
a very business casual black attire, a respectible 19-inch LCD monitor
and those oh-so-important business features like parallel and serial
ports. There are a couple of other items of note like options for a
built-in webcam, backup software and VESA mount so you can attach the
unit to a table or wall.
Details are spotty at this point but Dell has promised that they will
contain Core 2 Duo processors as well as gigabit Ethernet at the
system's $629 entry price. Wi-Fi will be strictly optional. The system
is already available in China and Japan where in the latter, a starter
Vostro All-In-One comes with a 2.6GHz Pentium dual-core, 2GB of RAM, a
160GB hard drive and an integrated DVD burner. North American sales
start on August 11th and are likely to have slightly different
configurations.
