Electrophysics' new high performance AstroScope 9350EOS-FF module might
be suited. Perfectly fit between the camera body and the SLR lens, the
AstroScope 9350EOS-FF night vision module won't interfere with the
optical image stabilization, which remains fully functional and would
keep all the electric connections in place.
Specially built for cameras like the EOS-1Ds Mark III and the EOS 5D
Mark II, the new AstroScope 9350EOS-FF is a central intensification unit
(CIU) capable of transforming dark, moonlight or starlit nights into
bright, high-resolution scenes. The night vision module also gives some
variable gain control to adapt to different lighting situations. That
helps reduce noise and virtually eliminates any vignetting of images.
There's no price leak for the new AstroScope 9350EOS-FF night vision
module, but word is that it should be in stores soon.
Lastly, regular readers on TFTS should know that about two weeks ago
Andrew tested my vigilance by dropping a quick hint to cover the next
projector on the site — and I brilliantly passed the test, well
this time it's my turn to return the favor. I know for sure that Andrew
not only has a passion photography, he actually owns one of those big
guns that can zoom up to Mars and focus on aliens doing it, therefore I
think it's only fair that it's his next responsibility is to cover
Saturday's AirShow in pictures here on TFTS, OR write about the next
monster he can find …
