Classic - we've just received word that LaCie has launched two new
enhanced LaCinema Black series HD media players/streamers in the form of
the LaCinema PLAY and the LaCinema RECORD.
Offering HD media playback and HD media recording (DVR) capabilities
respectively, as their names aptly imply, the two new LaCie LaCinema
Black Series HD media streamers can either stream content courtesy of
direct network connections or by employing integrated WiFi connectivity
and as well as offering 1080p Full HD decoding also sport 1080i HD
upscaling of standard definition content whilst also offering up support
for surround sound via optical audio outputs. Additionally,
connectivity-wise, both units also boasts built-in UPnP client players
allowing end users to access media from both PCs and Macs throughout
there homes with ease.
Now that families are beginning to consume masses of digital content,
they need a multimedia device that will allow them to easily store and
play their favorite content right from their existing home entertainment
center, said Patrick Salin, LaCie Multimedia Business Unit Manager.
With LaCinema Black products, users can access media over their network,
listen to music, sort photos, record TV programs, and ultimately get the
desired experience from their media collection - all from one product.
Coming with either 500GB or 1TB of onboard (HDD based) storage capacity,
LaCie have confirmed that pricing of the LaCinema PLAY and the LaCinema
RECORD will start from around $430, however, information concerning
specific unit pricing as well as actual dates of availability are yet to
surface.
