Bang & Olufsen Intro 40 BeoVision8 Full HD LCD TV 16:9 1080p HDTV

Those masters of creating products that never cease to ooze sheer,
unadulterated desirability in such volumes that it seem wholly
unfeasible, Bang Olufsen, have announced a new model set to supplement
their 26 and 32 BeoVision8 Series LCD TVs in the form of a 16:9 aspect
ratio 40 BeoVision8 offering Full HD.

The 40 BeoVision8 LCD HDTV, apart from offering native 1920 x 1080
resolution support, comes with 100Hz (double frame rate) technology
serving to reduce visible blur, as well as contrast improvement
technology offering dynamic optimisation of contrast levels for optimum
picture quality along with 3000:1 contrast ratio and 500 cd/m2
brightness. Additionally there's onboard DVB-HD as well as stereo NICAM
speakers supported by a down-facing bass speaker (subwoofer) the former
of which, according to Bang Olufsen, have been 'tuned specifically for
the reproduction of human speech'

What we did was we moved the sound forward and up, designing the TV
like a proper stage with an orchestra pit, states David Lewis (the
designer behind the new BeoVision8) in Bang Olufsen's press release.
This ensured the synergy between performance and design expected of Bang
Olufsen.

There's no word from Bang Olufsen at the time of writing concerning
either the 40 BeoVision8 HDTV's pricing or expected date of availability.
