Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7/ DMC-ZS3 Hybrid Compact Digital Camera Boasts AVCHD Lite HD Video Capture

Panasonic are set to add once again to their ever popular Lumix range of
digital cameras with their new Lumix DMC-TZ7 Hybrid compact digital
camera, which is known as the DMC-ZS3 outside Europe and which is the
first compact to record motion pictures in the AVCHD Lite HD video format.

The new, 12 megapixel Lumix DMC-TZ7/ DMC-ZS3 Hybrid compact, apart from
offering AVCHD Lite HD video capture, comes with a LEICA DC VARIO ELMAR
25mm ultra-wide-angle lens offering 12x optical zoom extending to 21.4x
zoom with the camera’s Extra Optical Zoom function (though imagery
is limited to 3MP using this extended zoom function), Dolby Digital
Stereo Creator for high quality audio recording (to compliment its AVCHD
Lite HD capabilities) and 27 scene modes for stills paired with a
further 16 scene modes related to movie capture.

Additionally, as you’d expect with a compact, the Lumix DMC-TZ7/
DMC-ZS3, which is based on the twin CPU Venus Engine HD processing
engine, comes with Face Detection, Intelligent Exposure and ISO
functionality and image stabilisation, burst shooting mode (offering up
to 2.3 shots per second at 10.1MP).

Panasonic are yet to announce unit pricing concerning the Lumix DMC-TZ7/
DMC-ZS3, however, they have confirmed that it’ll begin shipping as
of April 2009. Needless to say, we will, of course, endeavour to offer
an update concerning pricing the moment it becomes available.
