we’ve featured here previously - have introduced the latest in its
range of invariably highly desirable music entertainment systems in the
from of the new, sleek iLuv i9500 iPod/iPhone docking station which also
sports a 4x CD player and which can be placed either as a freestanding
unit or wall mounted.
Set to be formally introduced at next year's CES expo in January, the
iLuv i9500, apart from offering an integrated iPod/iPhone dock,
naturally supports MP3 and WMA files burned to CD (as well as standard
CD audio) as well as offering support for playing back digital audio
directly from SD cards and USB flash drives. Additionally the iLuv i9500
also comes with AM/FM PLL digital tuner with 32 station presets (16 for
FM, 16 for AM) as well as programmable alarm with timer and snooze
functionality.
In terms of output, the iLuv i9500 offers 2.1 channel sound at up to 45W
with lower frequencies more than being taken care of courtesy of a
fairly substantial separate subwoofer.
There's no word on pricing or availability as at the time of writing
with iLuv choosing, understandably, to keep its cards fairly close to
its chest until the i9500's first official outing at CES, however, based
on the specifications released we cannot help but feel that iLuv really
ought to have offered wireless connectivity in order to help iLuv to
push the i9500 as a full blown digital audio entertainment hub but,
unless iLuv are set to drop a surprise at CES, this would appear to be
something that iLuv have negated. Shame.
