interesting to note that IBM/Lenovo have just announced their new
ThinkPad W700 series mobile workstation laptop which distinguishes
itself from the stock W700 in coming complete with an integrated 10.6'
(diagonal) secondary 1280 x 768 resolution display supplementing its
main 17' 1920 x 1200 WUXGA screen.
The high-end IBM Lenovo ThinkPad W700 mobile workstation comes with a
veritable host of configurations with the primary features including a
choice of Intel Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Extreme and Core 2 Quad Core Q9100
CPUs, a choice of Nvidia Quadro FX 2700M or Quadro FX 3700M GPUs, an
integrated Wacom onboard palm rest digitizer and pen, a 64GB SSD paired
with dual RAID HDD high-speed storage (up to 350GB), dual link DVI and
4GB of PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM.
Aimed, as one would gather from the brief run down of key features noted
above, very much at professionals - and especially those looking for a
portable graphics workstation (the ThinkPad W700 comes with Integrated
color calibration as well as the aforementioned onboard palm rest
digitizer and pen) information concerning pricing is yet to surface,
though the IBM Lenovo ThinkPad W700 is set for release this month, but
few would doubt that this powerhouse of a machine won't be cheap.
