Official Levi ‘The Original’ Cell Phone Proves That Levi Should Stick To Clothing

When it comes to (predominantly) denim based clothing few companies can
boast quite the reputation enjoyed by the world renowned Levi, however,
we suggest that the likes of Nokia, LG, Samsung et al are hardly going
to loose any sleep over Levi entering the cell phone market if this
Official Levi 'The Original' Cell Phone is anything to go by.

The good news is that, if Levi's design brief was to create a truly
dull, wholly insipid looking cell phone they have succeed with such
great aplomb that we almost feel like congratulating them as this device
is truly hideous. Safe to assume, however, that this was not their
design brief so we can only offer our sincerest commiserations.

The phone itself, not withstanding the appalling design, is a relatively
middle of the road affair in offering a 2 megapixel camera (dull), a
262K colour 1.76' 220 x 176 resolution display (dull), and a Li-Ion
battery offering 3.5 hours of talktime (dull) and up to 200 hours of
standby (ok, not brilliant, but still dull). Bluetooth 1.2 (?!) and USB
connectivity are, let's be honest, standard fair these days whilst 60MB
of internal memory is actually not bad in the scheme of things.

Sporting a textured steel shell that, we presume, is supposed in some
kind of abstract way to represent the texture of denim (the phone looks
like its been run over), we truly hope that Levi's 'The Original' cell
phone transpires to be Levi's 'The Original & Only' cell phone and, when
you factor in that Levi's 'The Original' cell phone will set you back
$520 (a veritable bargain at a fourth of the price), we suspect that
even the most serious of Levi fanboys will ask serious questions
concerning their brand loyalty before deciding to look elsewhere.
