the Yamaha TSX-W80 and TSX-70, though, with its retro appeal and
AirWired cradle, it s undoubtedly the TSX-W80 that s the star of the
show what with the TSX-70 very much being an otherwise pretty standard
alarm clock dock offering traditional physical docking of your device.
So, unsurprisingly, and in light of the above, we ll concentrate our
attention on the gloriously retro inspired Yamaha TSX-W80 which, thanks
to the aforementioned AirWired cradle (as well as a top mounted docking
port) which will allow you to stream music wirelessly from your
iPhone/iPod, once attached to said cradle, thus allowing you to keep
your device on your person whilst playing audio via the TSX-W80
(particularly handy if making or expecting calls or if you just cannot
bear to be parted).
In terms of other features, the Yamaha TSX-W80 comes with alarm clock
and AM/FM radio (5 presets) functionality whilst, as far as output is
concerning, you re looking at a 5.5cm woofer rated at 8W paired with two
4cm full range bass reflex speakers offering 4 output apiece.
The Yamaha TSX-70, which is by far the less exciting of the two new
Yamaha docks just outed, is, on the other hand, a pretty traditional
affair that comes sans AirWired cradle and which serves as AM/FM alarm
clock radio as well as a docking station offering 2.1 audio output (
specifically 2 x 4W + 1 x 8W).
Details concerning release dates and pricing are pretty scant right now
though, having found our way to the official Japanese TSX-W80 product
site it would appear that the TSX-W80 is set to ship (in Japan) just
about no, though pricing details are not in evidence.
