Verizon HTC Hero Release Date Rumored for November Eric Schmidt Showing Off Verizon's HTC Hero With Touchscreen Buttons

As we earlier reported, Google and Verizon Wireless are working on a
partnership that will bring new Android smartphones to the market.
Although it's great news, the thing that managed to get our attention
even more was the Verizon-branded HTC Android mobile phone that Eric
Schmidth, CEO of Google, was holding in his hand at the press event.

Rumors have it that the handset is Big Red's version of the HTC Hero.
Other than a couple of hardware modifications, the new Verizon HTC Hero
is looking to replace the physical buttons under the trackball with
touch-sensitive buttons — which by the looks of it, seems to easy
cause accidentally hits.

As you'd expect Big Red didn't bother confirming the HTC Hero as of now
(and Schmidt didn't say either), but unnamed sources have informed that
it's actual the HTC Hero that Verizon will roll out this November.

HTC Hero is the third Android smartphone HTC has released after the
Dream and the Magic. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack, multitouch
capability, the new HTC Sense interface and Adobe Flash. The handset
also features a 3.2 inch 320ร—480 pixels display, a 5 megapixel camera,
built-in GPS, 3G connectivity and an integrated Accelerometer.

So are you waiting for the Hero on Verizon this November?
