AT&T & T-Mobile BlackBerry Bold 2 Official Announcement Pending T-Mobile & AT&T Set to Unveil Bold 2 (Onyx) this Month

Are you ready for this BlackBerry fans? A new RIM smartphone is getting
ready to be officially announced. The Onyx aka the Bold 2 is going to be
available this month from both AT T and T-Mobile. On a side note, AT T
is also preparing to launch a white BlackBerry Bold this October,
although it is just a plain old Bold!

Nothing is official just yet but, like always, release details have been
leaked well ahead of their time. The BlackBerry 9700 Onyx, also known as
the Bold 2 in some circles, is scheduled to arrive on October 21. And
there are two carriers waiting for it, AT T and T-Mobile. Pricing
details however have not been revealed but we assume that both carriers
will sell the device for the same pile of cash.

The Onyx is probably one of the best two smartphones RIM is going to
sell by the end of the year, the other one being of course, the Storm 2
which is headed to Verizon Wireless. The Onyx will offer you quad-band
GSM/EDGE/GPRS, UMTS/HSDPA connectivity, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, a
3.2 megapixel camera, a trackpad and the usual full QWERTY keyboard.
Considering the success of the Bold should we assume that its slimmer
follower will become at least as popular?

And speaking of the Bold, some troubling news came our way. It looks
like AT T is also planning to launch a new version of the Bold, a white
one. There s nothing wrong about this idea you ll say but then I ll tell
you how AT T plans to start selling the white Bold starting with October
18. That s three days before announcing the Bold 2 and that s what makes
everything so strange. Does AT T like shooting itself in the foot every
now and then? Shouldn t they try to sell the new Berry in the house
instead of pitching the old Bold in new clothes to their subscribers?
Yes, the white Bold does look good and it s something else considering
that RIM s default phone color is black. So why not make things
interesting and steal some T-Mobile customers away with a white Bold 2
instead? Or is the Bold 2 scheduled to arrive only days before the
future Bold 3 gets unveiled?
