Virgin Mobile LG Rumor 2 Release & Pricing Official LG Rumor 2 โ€ Socially Connectedโ€ Budget QWERTY Phone

It s now official – though, arguably, it s not all that much to
get especially excited about "as Virgin Mobile USA have now released
the LG Rumor 2 budget QWERTY slider phone with the texting friendly
socially connected handset now being up for grabs via its online portal.
The LG Rumor 2 is seemingly aimed at what we d assume to be the
teen/youth market in being especially suited to texting, on account of
its slider style QWERTY keyboard, but, in the main, offering nothing by
way of features away from what you d expect from a budget handset all in
a bid to maintain rock bottom pricing so those interested in the Rumor
2, and who are as yet unacquainted with what it brings to the table,
should reel in their expectations accordingly.
The LG Rumor 2 comes with a 2 QVGA display, a wholly lame 1.3
megapixel camera (1.3MP " its inexcusable, even on a budget handset),
integrated Bluetooth and, of course, inbuilt MP3 player and, whilst
there s more besides, it really doesn t get anymore interesting, I m
afraid though, in fairness, that s not strictly true as it does come
with GPS functionality allowing for map based navigation. Oh, yes, and
almost forgot, along with inbuilt web browsing the Rumor 2 also offers
integrated with social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, et al.

In fairness, perhaps we re being a little harsh here as, in mind of what
we assume its intended market to be, its not a bad phone
(notwithstanding the shameful camera resolution) and at just shy of $130
a pop you d hardly expect prime features " though, personally, we feel
that its somewhat overpriced, considering.

UPDATE: We'd like to thank Virgin Mobile USA for dropping a comment to
clarify that the Rumor 2 is not 3G despite what their official product
page ย states. We have, of course, mailed them back with a screen shot
to advise that they are, as at the time of writing, showing the handset
as 3G.

UPDATE: Virgin Mobile USA have mailed us back and confirmed that they
are correcting their site to remove the '3G' element. Thanks SA.
