Toshiba Biblio E-Reader Mobile Phone Surfaces Small Toshiba Biblio With 3.5" LCD, WiFi, Dictionary & 5.1Megapixel Camera

The popularity of ebook readers has steadily increased for sometime now,
but there are many people, including industry heavyweights who believe
that the growth of simple, dedicated e-readers may not be sustainable.
However, the newly announced Toshiba Biblio handheld has just
demonstrated the path future ebook readers may follow that of

The popularity of ebook readers has steadily increased for sometime now,
but there are many people, including industry heavyweights who believe
that the growth of simple, dedicated e-readers may not be sustainable.
However, the newly announced Toshiba Biblio handheld has just
demonstrated the path future ebook readers may follow that of
integration with other devices.

Toshiba Biblio does not use e-ink, because it comes with a 3.5-inch
touchscreen LCD that does 960×480 resolutions. The mobile phone/
ebook reader comes with Wi-Fi connectivity, built-in 7GB of storage and
a 5.1 megapixels camera. On top of that there's a horizontal sliding
keyboard that appears as a full QWERTY unit when the phone is held in
landscape mode, and takes the form of a numeric keypad when pulled out
in the portrait mode.

The most interesting feature however, the handset comes with MFlex'
Morphpad display which is based on the SmartInk technology that provides
full tactile feedback complementing LCD touchscreens, a high contrast
and visual impact. It means that when power is off the whole device
looks completely black, making for a stylish piece of accessory, too.

With so many functions accessed on consumer electronic devices today,
it s more important than ever to enhance the user experience, said
Matt Wolk, vice president of corporate development and chief strategy
officer at MFLEX. We ve developed a technology that enhances the user
interface and operation of smartphones and other electronic devices. By
morphing the Biblio keypad for multiple applications the user now has
maximum flexibility and ease of use.

Although it looks appealing, there's no word concerning availability or
pricing so far.
