release of Acer s Android 2.0 powered smartphone, the Acer A1, gaining
release sometime in September and those rumours appear to have now been
substantiated thanks to the Acer A1 being offered up for pre-order via
eXpansys right up until the page in question was taken down (we suspect
because they may have jumped the gun a tad).
Still, whilst the page in question was live it offered us a tantalising
insight not only as to the pending availability of the Acer A1 but also
concerning what the Acer A1 brings to the table in terms of
specifications and features as well as a glimpse at how much it ll set
you back (in Europe, anyhow).
According to the eXpansys page " which we offer a link to below in the
event that it reappears " the Acer A1, apart from being powered by
Google s Android 2.0 OS, offers up the following:

It certainly makes interesting reading especially when you factor in the
price that appeared on the eXpansys page " given as just shy of
โEUR390 (which equates to around $571/pound sterling360 as at the time
of writing).
Unfortunately, whilst the insight afforded us by eXpansys is heartily
welcomes they didn t actually go as far as detailing an exact date of
release but, aside from what appears to be a slip from eXpansys, it s
not unreasonable to assume that the Acer A1 is set to drop in Europe
real soon.
We ll keep you posted, naturally.
