manufacturers from scrapping to gain market share. The Foris line of LCD
monitors has been strictly a Japanese offering and its makers, EIZO,
have taken their time moving its release outside of their own borders.
It was announced today that EIZO has decided to take the next step with
its release of the Foris FX2431 24-in widescreen monitor into the
European market.
EIZO is marketing their latest monitor as a great fit for gaming, film
viewing, and PC use. It comes with dual HDMI and dual PC ports and AV
inputs for connecting PCs, high-definition game consoles, and analog AV
devices. It sports integrated 2-watt stereo speakers and 1080/24p
display capability for complete HD playback. It features an enhanced
screen size capability that features a Portable mode connection that
lets you plug in your PSP and play games on the monitor's big screen. It
also comes with an AV connection that lets you display 480i/p format and
other low-resolution games at up to twice their original size without
distortion.
The Foris FX2431 24-in widescreen monitor is actually the first Foris
model to be released outside of Japan. It features an S-PVA with a
native resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels that reproduces 96% of the Adobe
RGB color space. It has a response time of 6ms (G2G), a maximum
brightness of 360 cd/m2, and a contrast ratio going up to 2000:1.
The Foris FX2431 will be available in black or silver and will be backed
by a five-year warranty. Set to hit store shelves within the next month,
the Foris FX2431 will sport a less-than-attractive price tag of about
890EUR ($1265). For more information and a complete spec list visit
