Premier PC, this 1.6GHz Atom N270 powered 10 touchscreen laptop is
aimed specifically at young children and, apart from offering s sturdy
design capable of riding out the knocks and scrapes young kids will
undoubtedly throw at it (its both drop and spill resistant), comes with
a bundle of ten 'age-targeted' software titles as well as handwriting
recognition and MS Works 9.0.
Measuring in at 9.5 x 7.5 x 1.5 the PeeWee Pivot Tablet Laptop, as
befits a tablet PC, comes with a swivel display capable of swivelling
180 degrees, 1GB of memory (upgradeable to 2GB), a 60GB HDD, 2-in-1 card
reader and Ethernet connectivity as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
(interestingly billed as Linux version only though only an XP Home
version appears to be available at this time), a 1.3 megapixel camera
and, apart from coming with customised themes taking in the likes of
Disney can be 'custom built for your child's age, name, and interests' -
though quite what this specifically entails, apart from entering your
kid's name, eludes us.
Provided with software that enables parents to snoop on what their
child's up to (for piece of mind), the PeeWee Pivot Tablet Laptop is
priced from just shy of $600 and is available as of now.
