Dell Studio XPS 16 Update Pending? Studio XPS 16 to Gain ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670

According to as yet unsubstantiated rumours hitting the wires it would
appear that Dell are primed to upgrade its Dell Studio XPS 16 multimedia
notebook by swapping out its current graphics card (the now somewhat
long in the tooth ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670) for a new ATI Mobility
Radeon HD 4670 GPU.

As yet Dell have neither confirmed nor denied speculation that the 512MB
packing ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670, which is fabricated using ATI's
newer 55nm manufacturing process, will make it into their Studio XPS 16,
but there's little reason to doubt that Dell would want to refresh their
Studio XPS 16 in order to keep it current as well as to entice potential
purchasers who may otherwise see the older ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670
as a turnoff (especially the case what with the Studio XPS 16 being
billed so heavily as an all encompassing portable multimedia platform).

We await further news, and specifically official confirmation, with
interest especially with view to seeing if the upgrade will see a hike
in the Studio XPS 16's price point.
