(incidentally, ViewSonic's first multimedia LCD HDTV) which comes with a
Full HD 24 display as well as ATSC/NTSC/QAM tuner and internal media
player allowing the VTMS2431 to serve happily as both a home HDTV or a
digital signage display (or both, if using the TV is about the only way
you can get through to your kids).
Coming with the afore mentioned tuner and integrated media player, the
ViewSonic VTMS2431 HDTV additionally sports USB and RS-232 connectivity
- the former allowing ease of transfer of video and imagery for signage,
the latter allowing the VTMS2431 to be controlled remotely (once again,
aimed specifically at signage but great for teaching the kids a lesson
should your attempts at 'it's time for bed now as I want to play my
console a while - its me who pays the bills in the house, you know - not
that you'd know it….' signage fails to achieve the desired effect.
ViewSonic in their infinite wisdom have not offered any details
concerning brightness, contrast ratio, response time, etc, etc, but
have, at least, been nice enough to let us know that their VTMS2431 HDTV
will commence shipping sometime in Q2 of this year (spot the unspecific
theme building) and will retail for $449 (damn, that's quite specific).
