New iPod Shuffle 4GB with VoiceOver now Available 3rd Gen Shuffle

We've never managed to get particularly excited about Apple's Shuffle
and, though the new 3rd Gen iPod Shuffle actually doesn't change this at
all, we don't doubt that those who are looking for a diminutive digital
music player (Apple maintain that the new Shuffle is the world's
smallest music player) and who can live without any form of a display
may well find Apple's new 3rd Gen iPod Shuffle 4GB potentially tempting.
The new, aluminium iPod Shuffle 4GB, which measures in at a mere 45.2 x
17.5 x 7.8mm, opts to take on a rather more minimalist bent than its
predecessors in dropping the control wheel of old in preference for what
Apple refer to as a VoiceOver feature - which basically reads out song
titles, artists and playlists on the depression of a button located on
the inline controller. Additionally the VoiceOver feature can, helpfully
(considering the device is sans display) also indicate current charge
status and, just in case you're wondering, it is also capable of
'speaking' a total of 14 languages - namely English, Czech, Dutch,
French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Polish,
Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.

In terms of additional features, the 3rd iPod Gen Shuffle, in coming
with 4GB of integrated storage capacity, can hold up to 1,000 tracks
whilst, from an endurance perspective, you're looking at up to 10 hours
of playback based on a full charge.

Coming with a built-in stainless steel clip, allowing you to easily
attach it to clothing, the new 3rd Gen iPod Shuffle 4GB will set you
back just shy of $80 and has just been made available via apple's retail
stores as well as all the usual additional outlets.
