Kogan Agora & Agora Pro 10 Netbooks Aussie Netbook: Cheap, Uninspiring

Australian company Kogan have previewed their up and coming Kogan Agora
and Agora Pro 10 netbooks which offer 3-cell and 6-cell battery options
respectively and which, all said and done, offer nothing we haven't seen
a thousand times over (this bog standard netbook bandwagon is getting a
little long in the tooth now, don't you think?).

Powered by Intel's Atom N270 processor, both the Kogan Agora and the
Agora Pro (we'll deal with the 'Pro' model specifically in a moment)
come with all the usual suspects in terms of hardware - 160GB HDD,
10/100 Ethernet, 1.3 megapixel camera, 10.2 1024 x 600 display and
4-in-one card reader. So, nothing new here.

The Agora Pro netbook - which is expected to run with gOS or (seemingly)
Windows 7 additionally comes with the aforementioned 6-cell battery (as
opposed to the standard edition's 4-cell affair) as well as a Bluetooth
mini-dongle and 2GB of RAM (double that of the non-Pro 1GB offered by
the lesser Agora). Now quite what's 'Pro' about having 2GB RAM and a
Bluetooth mini-dongle is wholly beyond us but what do we know. We'll
ponder this for a few minutes to see if we can make sense of it.

No, we can't.

In terms of pricing the 3-cell standard Kogan Agora is expected to sell
in Australia around the $499 AUS mark whilst the Pro version of the
Agora is expected to retail for around $549 AUS though, interestingly,
if you opt for the non-Pro Agora you'll have the option of buying the
Bluetooth dongle supplied with the Pro Agora for an additional $10 AUS
(thus making your standard Agora netbook a semi-pro netbook, perhaps).
