Casio Exilim EX-Z29/Zoom EX-Z29 Compact Digital Camera YouTube Capture, Custom Frames

We've been positively inundated with news concerning new point and shoot
compact digital cameras of late and we'll start today's posting with yet
another in the form of the Casio Exilim EX-Z29, or Zoom EX-Z29 as it
also appears to be known, which is very much an entry level point and
shoot camera which a feature set you can probably second guess already
without going far wrong.

If you have a spotter's guide to compact point and shoot cameras, get
prepared to tick more than a few boxes here, such as 3x optical zoom
(check), a 2.7 LCD display (check), 10.1 megapixels (exactly in the
range you'd expect, so, yes…check), a host of fashionable color
options (and, not, you cannot count each as a point because that's just
cheating) such as black, pink , blue, silver and purple.
Flippancy aside, whilst there's nothing here that'll excite anybody
except those with particularly low pleasure thresholds the Casio Exilim
EX-Z29 certainly ensures it presses all the right buttons regarding its
all too obvious target market (the point I was trying to make above,
actually, in my own small way). But it does also offer some other
features that are, perhaps, a little more galvanising such as 16:6
widescreen movie recording as well as a YouTube Capture Mode whilst it
also coming with custom frames allowing users to 'choose designs such as
a heart or a butterfly for the frame design. When the camera is
correctly focused, a beautiful heart can be displayed, and when correct
focus is not achieved the heart pattern breaks up. This makes it easy to
ensure correct focus, and it is fun, too.'

That's it, I don't know about you, but I'm sold.

The Casio Exilim EX-Z29/Zoom EX-Z29 is set to become available from
April and will set you back just shy of $150.
