BeBook 2 e-Reader Sports 3G, Wi-Fi & Touchscreen Potential Kindle Killer

The BeBook 2 e-Reader, which could impact significantly on sales of
Amazon's Kindle, has been unveiled at CeBIT sporting rather more
refined, smooth aesthetics than the original BeBook as well as a host of
enhancements including integrated Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity (including
wireless RSS support) as well as touchscreen functionality and ePub support.

Full details are yet to be made public at this stage, but its reported
that the BeBook 2, which sports the same 6 sized display as the
original BeBook (though it is a touchscreen) apart from allowing end
users to source material freely (you won't be locked to a specific
content provider, for example, and it will support DRM free files),
comes with 512MB of built-in memory which can be supplemented thanks to
an SD card slot, a web browser as well as support not only for RSS feeds
but also a host of formats - with the following specific formats being
touted: pdf, mobi, lit, epub, doc, html, txt, prc, fb2 and jpg files.
Also of note it's also being reported that the BeBook 2's wireless
connectivity will be via an add-on SD card as opposed to being wholly
integrated That said, we should stress that these details are not
officially confirmed as at the time of writing.

There still no word on pricing but, as alluded to previously, its
already abundantly clear that the BeBook 2 will draw many away from the
Kindle so we suspect that Amazon will be following events as they unfold
with particular interest.

The moment we get more information we'll bring it to you asap.
