the new Sony Ericsson CyberShot S001 camera phone which, along with the
Sony Ericsson’s S905 Shiho further serves to blur the boundaries
between compact cameras and cell phones in offering an 8.1-megapixel
autofocus EXMOR CMOS sensor with LED flash paired with Smile Shutter,
Face Recognition, Image Stabilization and auto exposure/white balance
(as well as sensitivities up to a particularly impressive ISO1600).
The new CDMA/GSM Sony Ericsson CyberShot S001 slider, apart from serving
as a more than capable compact camera in its own right, also supports
1Seg digital TV which promises to look particularly impressive thanks to
the S001’s 3.3″ 854 x 480 resolution OLED display.
Additionally the CyberShot S001 naturally comes with DAP/PMP
functionality, Bluetooth connectivity and comes with integrated GPS.
Measuring in at 51 x 115 x 17.8mm and weighing 145g, the Sony Ericsson
CyberShot S001 camera phone will become available via KDDI Japan in
black, a rather garish gold, green and pink (of course) sometime in
March though there’s no word concerning pricing at the time of
writing.
