Fujifilm’s new FinePix F200EXR digital camera (which serves to
raise the bar in terms of image quality that’s to employing
Fujifilm’s new, ground-breaking Super CCD EXR technology) up pop
another two compact cameras from Fujifilm adding to it’s a-Series
range of compacts in the form of the Fujifilm A100 and A150.
Coming in at the opposite end of the spectrum to the aforementioned
FinePix F200EXR, the Fujifilm A100 and A150 compact cameras are touted
as being ‘fun, easy-to-use compact cameras’ that are aimed
specifically at consumers that ‘want a camera that’s easy on
the wallet, high on performance and user-friendly, but don’t want
to be confused by too many functions and settings’.
Both the Fujifilm A100 and A150 offer the same 10 megapixel sensors
paired with 3x optical zoom as well as 20MB of in built storage and, as
befits a compact aimed specifically at the point and shoot fraternity,
both come with a host of auto pre-programmed scene modes - 14 to be
exact - as well as Face Detection (no indication from Fujifilm’s
press release as to how many faces either cameras are capable of
recognising in a single scene), auto red-eye removal and picture
stabilisation. Both additionally offer QVGA video capture capabilities
with sound at 30fps.
In terms of defining features, the only apparent difference between the
Fujifilm A100 and A150 appears to be the size of the integrated LCD
displays - the A150 sporting a 3″ screen whilst the A100’s
display comes in at just 2.7″.
No word as yet concerning either pricing or availability, but its safe
to assume that neither will strain the finances.
