DCR-SR87, DCR-SR67 and DCR-SR47 HDD Camcorders From Sony

Sony launched three new camcorders at the CES - the DCR-SR47, the
DCR-SR67, and the DCR-SR87. These standard definition HDD camcorders are
supplanting the old DVD- and tape-based camcorders. All three camcorders
have a 60x optical zoom, a microphone zoom and you can edit video on the
camcorder using the Sony eDeco technology.

The DCR-SR47 comes with a 60GB hard-drive whereas both the DCR-SR67 and
DCR-SR87, have 80GB hard-drives. The DCR-SR87 has a 1-megapixel CCD
image sensor and it records using Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound. You
will be able to burn and archive the videos using Sony’s DVDirect
Express burner. With all three camcorders the 2.7-inch wide aspect
fold-out touchscreen lets you control the video shooting. The Sony Super
SteadyShot image stabilization is also common to all three camcorders.

The three models essentially are an improvement on the following models
released last year - SR45, SR65, and SR85. The Sony DCR-SR87, DCR-SR67
and DCR-SR47 Handycam video recorders will hit the markets next month
and cost $500, $450 and $400, respectively.
