Ooma Set To Release Ooma Telo Cordless Handset Promises Free US Calls, Fee International Calls To Other Ooma Customers

The internet telephone service provider, Ooma, have announced a new,
handsfree, internet based handset in the form of the not unattractive
Ooma Telo which, apart from serving as an internet based telephone
promising free calls within the US as well as internationally to other
Ooma users, can also serve as a standard landline telephone.Obviously,
in order to take advantage of the Ooma Telo's free calls a broadband
internet connection is a prerequisite but, should you have one and wish
to avail yourself of the Ooma Telo you'll be please to know that the
device offers a well rounded feature set including support for caller
ID, ringtones and a contact manager as well as boasting some additional
features such as the ability to pass on your address to 911 operators
should you make an emergency call. Naturally, in being an internet based
phone, the Telo will, of course, also play ball with your PC allowing
you to organise your contacts and listen to voicemails.

The Ooma Telo is set to retail as a wireless handset and router combo
for around $250 though, at the time of writing, no exact details
concerning shipping dates have been announced.
