New Sony Walkman to Boast Wi-Fi & OLED Touchscreen Walkman to Take on iPod Touch

Sony is set to debut its latest and most advanced Walkman at the CES
2009. The new unbelievably sleek Walkman will feature 16Gb and 32Gb
storage, wi-fi capacities, and an OLED touchscreen. OLED display
capabilities are superior to those offered by LED displays so one can
expect sharp image displays on this device.

The Wi-Fi supports WPA and WEP; it enables you to connect to YouTube by
clicking on an artist name. You can subscribe to audio podcasts. Audio
codec allows you to listen to music in the following formats - MP3, WMA,
AAC, PCM, while video codec support is AVC (h.264), MPEG-4 and WMV.

The device features an FM radio and if rumors are to be believed, a
fully functional web browser. I guess, if one could add communication
features and a camera to the Walkman, it would offer tough competition
to the iPhone. That is the beauty of convergence, one never knows, it
might even happen.
