Multipass MintPad WiFi Touchscreen Multimedia & WiFi Web Tablet [The Ultimate Pocket Gadget?]

It's once in a blue moon that we echo something posted on our sister
site, EP, here on TFTS but, in the case of this ultra compact
touchscreen Multipass MintPad, which offers internet browsing,
multimedia playback, instant messaging and even the ability to blog
whist on the move, we'll make no particular apology as the Multipass
MintPad undoubtedly deserves all the exposure we can give it.

Built around a heavily modded version of the Windows CE 5.0 operating
system and powered by an ARM9 400MHz CPU, the highly versatile Multipass
MintPad comes with a 2.86' 262K color TFT LCD touchscreen, integrated
802.11b/g wireless LAN, a built-in 1.3 megapixel web cam and speaker and
even manages to pack in 128MB SDRAM complete with a microSD card slot
allowing you to supplement the MintPad's capacity up to 8GB - and all
this in a device that measures in at a highly compact 3.08″ x
2.51″ x 0.60″.

As far as file format support is concerned, the Multipass MintPad will
play ball with MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV, APE and FLAC audio files and AVI,
WMA, MP4 video file formats and, should you wish to utilise the
Multipass MintPad as a photo viewer the MintPad will happily display
JPG, BMP and PNG based imagery.

The Multipass MintPad offers up a purported 30 hours of battery
endurance for audio or five hours for video and, if you're not suitably
impressed by now, its just started retailing in Korea for a mere
198,000KRW (which equates to around a shockingly reasonable $157 at the
time of writing).

The big question is, will we ever see it released outside of Korea?
Unfortunately its doubtful but we can live in hope.
