DisplayLink technology (facilitating multi-monitor computing via USB
aimed particularly at notebook/laptop users), the Mitsubishi RDT201WDL,
which offers a maximum screen resolution of 1680 1050 and which comes
with integrated Ethernet connection and USB hub and which, according to
Mitsubishi's press release, 'helps give mobile workers the visual
workspace they need with next to no hassle'.Apart from sporting
DisplayLink technology, Mitsubishi's RDT201WDL widescreen display also
has some fairly sound green credentials thanks to the integration of an
on-screen energy meter and no less that three levels of power
consumption which ultimately culminates in the RDT201WDL purportedly
utilising up to 36% less power that equivalent sized (unnamed) LCD displays.
Having just become available in Japan, there's no word at the time of
writing as to whether the Mitsubishi RDT201WDL monitor will see a wider
international release though we personally wouldn't bet against it (not
least because the international market for 'green' displays is one that
Mitsubishi can ill afford not to cash in on).
