Google Goggles Gmail Feature Safeguards Against Mails You May Regret [State of Mind ‘Reality’ Check]

If you have ever sent a particularly harsh and pointed email when under
the influence of alcohol - to, for example, your boss to tell him/her in
no uncertain terms what you think of them or, perhaps, to your partner
following a petty argument - which you've had cause to regret (and,
let's be honest here, more than a few of you can probably relate to this
- I know I can) then a new Google Gmail application called Google
Goggles could be of interest - if only if it keeps you from being
fired/unceremoniously dumped. The Google Goggles application, developed
by Gmail engineer Jon Perlow, has been developed to help establish if
'you're really sure you want to send that late-night Friday email' by
posing a few maths related questions that need to be solved prior to
your email being dispatched, thus giving you 'a moment' to calm down
and, perhaps, reconsider whether it really is in your interests to tell
your boss a few home truths or inform your partner that its all over
only to receive the heart stopping 'ok, fair enough, see you then' by
return. (Ouch).Admittedly such a 'reality check' really ought not be
needed and we dare say that it could prove infuriating to have to solve
maths problems when all you want is to forward a well thought out rant
to someone (whilst in full procession of your faculties) - thankfully
you can configure when the application will kick in, however, but, if it
also works to halt you from sending that mail composed under the
influence after a night out that you secretly know you'll probably
regret, the fact that Google Goggles could just keep you from signing on
the next day could, just could prove to be a lifesaver.
