Fujitsu & LOOX R& Series Laptops Debut in Japan

Fujitsu has introduced two new laptops in the Japanese market. The LOOX
R/C70 and LOOX R/C50 are ultralight and feature-packed. The R/C70 weighs
a mere 1.27 kg with dimensions of 280 mm x 207 mm x 27.3 - 37.4 mm.and
features a 12.1″ WXGA 1280 x 800 display. It comes with a 2GB RAM
and 128GB SSD. At the heart of the Fujitsu R/C70 lies a 1.2GHz Core 2
Duo SU9300 processor. Apart from Gigabit Ethernet and Bluetooth,
connectivity features includes WiFi a/b/g/n. Three USB 2.0, a PC card
slot, SD slot, VGA output and Firewire are the ports available. The LOOX
R/C70 boasts a very impressive battery time of more than 12.6 hours. It
comes with Windows Vista Business pre-installed which can be downgraded
to Windows XP.

The LOOX R/C70 will retail at around ยฅ280,000 or approximately $3,083
which makes it a fairly high-priced notebook and should it become
available in other markets outside Japan, Fujitsu’s pricing
strategy will be interesting to follow.

The LOOX R/C50 weighs 1.30 kg and has a battery life of 12.1 hours after
a complete recharge. Storage is 320 GB HDD and Bluetooth is absent. The
Fujitsu LOOX R/C50 will retail at ยฅ230,000 or around $2,500.
