Sony GPS-CS3KA GPS Photo Tagger [Geotaging for CyberShot Cameras & Camcorders]

The photographers and videographers amongst you who relish the thought
of automatically tagging stills images and videos with location data
gained via GPS may be interested in the successor to the previously
featured Sony CS1 geotaging device, the Sony GPS-CS3KA, which has just
surfaced with absolutely none of the fanfare normally reserved for new
Sony releases.Billed as being compatible with most CyberShot cameras and
camcorders as well as with virtually any video or stills camera (though
specific compatibility details with non-Sony devices is distinctly
lacking), the Sony GPS-CS3KA GPS Photo Tagger (or GPS Image Tracker, as
its officially known) is capable of recording the location, date and
time with each shot that’s captured and works in combination with
the supplied Picture Motion Browser PC software to synchronise all your
photos with latitude, longitude and time of capture data which are
subsequently also added as push-pin points via Google Maps allowing you
to keep extremely accurate information concerning where each and every
image was captured, as well as the exact time of capture. The Sony
GPS-CS3KA GPS Photo Tagger offers a battery life of up to a purported 15
hours and comes complete with MS/SD card slot and is currently listed as
available to pre-order from Amazon in the US for just shy of $150 in
advance of it shipping on or around 29 March 09.
