Nyko Wireless Nunchuck For Wii - Nintendo Unleashes its Lawyers [Nintendo Sue Nyko Claiming Patent Violation]

Some time back we featured Nyko's new wireless Nunchuck for Nindendo's
Wii console that, in serving to remove that extremely frustrating wire
that acts to shackle the Nunchuck to the WiiMote struck us as being a
particularly good idea, but Nintendo seem somewhat less enthusiastic
about Nyko's wireless Nunchuck and have acted to begin legal proceedings
against Nyko claiming patent violation.

Based on the grounds that Nyko's device, according to Nintendo, overtly
imitates their Nunchuck's 'novel shape, design, overall appearance'
Nintendo have unleashed their legal beagles in an attempt to halt Nyko
selling their wireless controller, not, we suspect, because they think
it's a particularly bad idea but, we suggest, they either want a slice
of the action or, more than probably, intent to offer a wireless
Nunchuck of their own.

Nkyo have responded to Nintendo's rath by stating 'We have not
knowingly violated anyone’s intellectual property and we’re
still examining this' though, let's be honest here, the similarities
between Nkyo's wireless Nunchuck and Nintendo's original Nunchuck are,
say we say, somewhat reminiscent if not overtly striking.
