also unveiled their new LaCie LaCinema Black MAX media streaming hard
disk which builds upon the previously released LaCie LaCinema Classic in
offering not only the capability to stream all manner of digital media
files (audio, photos, video) directly to your TV (including 1080p HD
content) but which also offers digital video recording functionality -
thus turning your TV into a fully featured media server.Billed as being
‘a new kind of entertainment center and offering full home
networking capabilities, the LaCie LaCinema Black MAX supports both
H.624 and WMV HD as well as standard definition video formats (as well
as the MKV container format), and comes with integrated DVB-T tuner
completed with electronic program guide (EPG) offering full
time-shifting functionality (allowing you to pause and rewind television
broadcasts as well as record them) as well as the ability to upscale
standard definition video content to 1080p HD standard. Additionally,
thanks to its Windows and Mac UPnP compatibility as well as integrated
802.11n Wi-Fi and 10/100Mbps Ethernet connectivity the LaCie LaCinema
Black MAX will also happily serve as an external computer HDD as well as
a NAS drive.The LaCie LaCinema Black MAX is set to become available in
500GB and 1TB capacities and, in terms of specific file format
compatibility, you can factor in AVI, DivX, MPG, MP4, MKV, WMV, MOV,
ISO, VOB, IFO, ASF, TS, TP, TRP and M2TS video formats, MP3, WMA, AAC,
OGG, AC3, MP4, WAV/LPCM audio formats and, in terms of image formats,
JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP and TIF are also represented.Offering HDMI,
Component and Composite video and optical and analogue audio outputs -
as well as analogue composite, S-Video and analogue stereo inputs - the
LaCie LaCinema Black MAX, which measures in at 9.2 x 8.8 x 1.8, appears
