Dell Set To Take On Asus Eee PC with Dell Mini Notebook [Dell Poised To Enter Mini Notebook Wars with ‘Mini Inspiration’]

It seems like not a single day goes past without another contender
entering the mini notebook ring set on socking it to Asus's Eee PC range
and now, to add to the likes of HP's Mini Note and MSI's Wind (to name
but two) it appears that Dell is set to enter the fray with their up and
coming 'Mini Inspiration' PC (though much, including the device's true
title, remains closely under wraps).

Rumoured to put in an appearance at next week's Computex event, of the
few details to have been established as the device was flaunted
fleetingly before a member of the Gizmodo team, is that the device
sports three USB ports, a card reader, VGA out, Ethernet and that's
about it, except that a number of images made available by Dell
(referring to the device as the 'Mini Inspiration') do serve to lend a
sense of scale to the device. Should rumours previously floating around
the net prove founded, however, the device is purported to offer an
8-in-1 card reader (Gizmodo's sighting would appear to confirm this), a
8.9' screen, a built-in webcam and will be supplied with both Windows XP
Home and Ubuntu Linux.

We await further details with bated breath.
