Vology Limited Edition Predator X-2 Billed As World’s Fastest Gaming Laptop

As far as bold (seemingly unsubstanciated?) claims go, Vology's claim
that their new Limited Edition Predator X-2 gaming laptop is 'the
fastest and most powerful gaming laptop in the world' is certainly up
their with the best of them - though it would have been nice to see a
series of benchmarks to add some weight to the claim.

Certainly, on paper, the Predator X-2 is undoubtedly an impressive piece
of kit and we have no doubt that a machine of such specifications would
eat most games for breakfast but (and it's a big but) surely if the
Predator X-2 is that fast the least the company could do is offer some
idea of its performance. For example, rather than merely stating ' you
can now play Crysis on the highest settings' we'd much rather Vology
added some idea of exactly what FPS the Predator X-2 offers at
particular resolutions, exactly what level of detail, what degree of
anti-alisaing, etc, etc.

Perhaps it's just us but if you had produced 'the fastest and most
powerful gaming laptop in the world' wouldn't you want to knock
prospective customers dead with such details paired with benchmarks to
substantiate your claims? We would and, more importantly, if we were
considering splashing out a hefty $4599.99 for a gaming laptop we
certainly wouldn't part with the cash in the face of such ambiguity.

Don't get us wrong, we are not saying that these claims are untrue,
merely that we cannot help but remain somewhat sceptical in the absence
of some good, hard, cold figures. And such information is so overtly and
so patently lacking that we can only come to one of two possible
conclusions: either this laptop is not actually as fast as Vology claim
or Vology are just particularly poor at product promotion. Which it is,
we couldn't possibly say and we only truly know when the Predator X-2 is
independently benchmarked.

A beautifully specified laptop, certainly. The 'fastest and most
powerful gaming laptop in the world' perhaps, but you'll forgive us if
we reserve judgement until we see the results of independent
benchmarking. However, in the meantime, a little more insight from
Vology concerning the capabilities of their Limited Edition Predator X-2
really wouldn't go a miss.
