Sony Announce Eight New HX/HXD HDD DVD Recorders [Optimised For Sony Bravia HD Systems]

Sony has announced no less than eight new hard disk drive DVD recorders,
all of which support full HD 1080p playback and upscaling, come with
integrated USB and PictBridge ports, PVR, Bravia Sync, direct HDD
camcorder connection and X-Pict Story feature allowing users to create
their own personal slideshows, complete with music, from imagery stored
on the recorders.

Aimed at the European market, the top of the range RDR-HXD1095 comes
with a full half terabyte of storage capacity - sufficient to store up
to 1,420 hours of recorded TV - as well as in-built DVB-T digital tuner
with DVB-T also being provided on the RDR-HXD790, HXD890 and HXD995
models whilst the remaining models, namely the RDR-HX680, HX780, HX980
and HX1080 merely come with integrated analogue tuners (the
aforementioned HDX models also come with optional CI slot).

Sony's new HX/HXD HDD DVD Recorders are due to become available in July,
though Sony, as is somewhat traditional with them, have held back on
pricing structures at the time of writing.
